I haven’t read an anthology in a while… and Wow, what a jammed packed book to read. You will want to settle in for a few nights to thoroughly enjoy these delightful, delicious tales of these scrumptious firemen/women. This book is packed with authors that know exactly how to tease you with their words that will tempt, tease and downright make you feel naughty. They know how to light a fire in places that might be chilly with this weather lately. These are some wonderful authors that know how to make their words matter!

First, I will post the blurb for each story then my review. Let’s see how these stories will roast your sheets 🙂

Feeding the Flames ~ Leah Breamel: When chef Tabatha Morgan returns to Barnett Springs, her burning crush on firefighter Zac Buchanan flares back to life. Trouble is, Zac has made a promise to keep his distance from Tabby, so Zac’s best friend and fellow firefighter Quinn decides to help feed the flames of their mutual desire.

This story is cute in its own way. Promises were made a long time ago… do they still stand the test of time… when it is between best friends – yes. But what happens when you grow up and out of those promises made way back when… Do they still stand… Well, that depends on what they were. Zac knows what he wants but is set on keeping his promise, which is very admirable… but when the woman of your dreams wants you what do you do… Well, thank God for best friends to slap you when you are stupid… This is a hot tale that will start the slow shimmer for the rest of the book!

Combustible ~ Lexxie Couper: Arson investigator, Desmond Russell is the best in Australia. Cool, calm and collected, nothing ruffles him. Until he meets Outback fire brigade captain, Jess Montgomery, a woman who ignites all his sexual desires. The initial spark will engulf them both…but will their hearts survive the inferno?

Now this story was kinda cool because the author took the look of a fire situation from a different angle, one I never thought about while reading about firemen/women… But I will say that the feathers that were ruffled was extremely fun to watch because you would swear that as much as Jess hated Desmond, she wanted him just as fierce. But would pride and ownership of her job cost her what her heart wants most of all, him. Not sure, you will have to read to find out. This is a definitely a tale worth reading and observing how control is to be taught on the field and in the bedroom 🙂

Wet Down ~ Delilah Devlin: Out with the old, in with the new…Or so Sherry Thacker thinks. Problem is, her ex is always on her mind and right across the street. When a “Wet Down” ceremony to retire an old fire truck is planned by the city council she has to put aside her hurt and anger and do her job. Blake Thacker wants his wife back—in every way and he’ll use whatever means necessary to win her back. Sex is always best served WET.

When two people have had enough of each other, the best thing is to leave… but Sherry and Blake I am not sure got the memo that when you are considered an ex, there is no going back. But when one man wants his wife back, he will stop at nothing to get her back – where she belongs. With him.

Two to Spark ~ Marie Harte: When a psychic predicts that a faulty toaster, a black cat, and the wrong address will bring Cooper together with Ms. Right, he shrugs off the notion as crazy. But before long, fate has something else in store for the sexy firefighter when a spark of attraction ignites into true love.

Oh my goodness, now this story had me giggling and getting hot all that the same time. This story is so cute you will want to find your own damn cat to trip over. Because believe me, if I knew that tripping over a cat would get a guy like Cooper… hell, I would be tripping over the damn thing all the time. (Not really, but you know what I mean… lol) But this story will take a trip down memory lane and for those in the past, some things are never truly forgotten… or forgiven? Cooper’s sister has told him what awaits in his future… but does he have the balls to accept what she has said or is willing to shrug it off… That is, until he realizes that sometimes things happen for a reason that none of us will ever know…

Controlled Burn ~ Desiree Holt: Montana Wade was home after writing off the past ten years of her life, but she needed one more night of courage before she faced her family. Boone Crider, hotshot firefighter, was burned out form the rash of malicious fires. They thought one night as strangers would cure them both, but the fire they started between them soon became a barely controlled burn.

This was a good story… The opening was great! The bar, the one night of a little liquid courage… Boone! Coming back home to face family and feel like a failure is never a good thing but Montana was up for anything after the amazing night of awesome sex with Boone… But what she did not realize was that Boone lived in her town… went to the diner she ate at… and basically was all around her… Was that a bad thing, hell no! The one night of amazing sex as strangers could turn out to be oh-so-much-more… But will the fire they started burn out quickly or will they let it fester? You will have to read this one to find out…

Up In Smoke ~ Lissa Matthews: Half-brothers, Josh and Jay, share everything from a house, to a love of curvy, older women. So when their dream woman accidentally sets her kitchen on fire, they ride to her rescue, sirens blaring, promising to kindle flames that may never be extinguished.

Ohhhh what a story this turned out to be… Two brothers who are strong, sexy, hot, hero worthy, panty wetting brothers… Damn, I mean one story with one of the brothers would have been enough, but we got both of to them in one story.. holly molly! This is a delicious tale, where you actually do get dinner and…. dessert! 🙂 Sometimes dessert is just so good you have to have a second piece! Hehehe… But seriously, this is a story that will make you go “awe damn.. I can’t believe that happened to her…” but then when you see what happens to her after, you realize she is in good hands. And oh those hands will make you melt and beg for more… Josh and Jay save people’s lives everyday, but when saving the life of one woman causes their hearts to catch fire, is she going to be ready to put that fire out and keep these two from burning up!

Rekindled ~ Cari Quinn: Some blazes refuse to be contained. It’s been months since ex-firefighter Katie Kemp has spoken to her former lover and squad mate, Dash Carlton. But when a late night drive down memory lane leads her to a small fire at Dash’s house, she realizes she’s not willing to turn her back on the hottest flame of her life.

This story was hilarious. I mean, do not get me wrong, the story was awesomely sexy but to see how this story unfolded was deliciously funny! I mean how else do you explain why you are at your ex’s house… saving his butt from a fire… in his own house! This story does take it a trip down memory lane but if the trip saves someone, is it worth it – of course it is… But the thing is, does this person want saving… Katie and Dash will take you on their trip of saving each other… Two halves are not whole unless they are together… Now, don’t get me wrong, the sheets will be burning up but these two have the right equipment to put it out!!!

Into the Fire ~ Shelli Stevens: Shannon has always prided herself on holding her own in the male dominated field of firefighting. She likes to be in control. Until she strikes a bargain with a sexy man from her past who makes her give it all up in the bedroom.

Oh my goodness… This story makes me wish I walked in that bar that night.. This really is a good story of how compromising is all about control. You never know what you are capable of until one night… someone ask you to give it up. Would you give it up for one night of unspoken promises that could make you wet on the spot? Well, Shannon decided why not… You never know what you like until you at least try it… once… right… Or maybe a few more times, lol… Shannon walked to walk directly Into the Fire… She just wants you to go on the ride with her!

My review for this book will be a bit different as this an anthology of many stories and while it is hard to write a review and not give anything away when it is a good size story, when they are as short as these are – it is extremely hard to NOT give away the story… So, I just write about what I read….

The collective voices of all the authors in this anthology are awesome. These women were given a mission, to write about firemen and boy did they deliver. There are sixteen short stories in all. Although some are a few pages long and others a little longer, one thing through all those pages have is some serious smoking hot freaking firemen and some smoking hot sex scenes. These authors didn’t back down from the challenge and for that I thank them. They freely gave their characters emotion, passion, desire, and lust. But they also put their characters through fear and doubt. They made their stories real; they gave life to each one you read.

With writing a very short story like these authors did, it is hard to first deliver a story that a reader will believe because of the length of the story. Then it is hard because you have to give the reader everything they so desire within those few pages. So, first kudos to all the authors in this anthology, you ladies did an amazing job. Secondly, readers, please beware that if you love a long, drawn out courting, romance, then sex kinda story… Well, just sit back, relax and let go for a little while, while you read these tales. Enjoy them for what they are – quickies that sometimes we only fantasize about.

These wonderful authors tapped into what is assumingly one fantasize all us women share – being with a freaking hot fireman, in any way, shape or form. They delivered us stories about married couples whose emotions are real because they are scared for their loves one as they might not come back from that call. Some deliver us stories of our hero’s being rescued by that special someone and not even knowing they were the one in need of being rescued but most of all what they deliver us is some stuff to light a fire in the bedroom and make our own fantasizes come true.

Some characters will delight you, some will make you laugh, others you may want to slap for being bullheaded and some you might just simply fall in love with. The stories are for you to simply read and enjoy. Not to judge if the story is to short or if the sex is not timed right within the story, just read and enjoy… Give the authors many props for dishing us dirty, naughty stories in such a short read.  Much love to each and every one of the authors in this collection – you all rock!
