**Author Interview w/Silence O’Shea** U.K. Kink Anyone?

Ladies and Gents of the Lair, I would love for you to put together a warm, hussy welcome for a delightful new author!! She was a treat to interview! 🙂

Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself…. Something that we cannot Google about you, lol!

I love ghosts. Ghost stories, ghost movies, ghost TV shows…anything. But I’m pretty sure I’d pee my pants if I ever saw one.

Tell us a little about your book?

My latest, Class Vamp, is about Josie, a BBW whose high school reunion is coming up. She wants to lose weight beforehand, to show up some evil class wenches, but she’s turned into a vampire. The book is largely about her learning to deal with the fact she’ll be a fat vamp forever. She finds hot sex helps. 🙂

How much emotion does it take from you to write?

Not a lot of emotion, really, but I do find myself mentally exhausted upon finishing a book. I’m trucking along, thinking everything’s rosy, then I type “The End” and BOOM! Sleep for 4 days. Lol!

What is your favorite part of the book?

When Josie is turned. I really, really love to write humor, and I’m not saying I’m hitting the standup circuit any time soon, but I amused the hell out of myself, writing that part. Oh, and it’s pretty hot, too.

You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters*

Josie: Self-deprecating, insecure, authentic; Tanner: perceptive, supportive, creative

Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why??

Josie was both the easiest and the hardest. I put bits of myself into my heroines, and those parts are easy to write. But Josie deals with things that I don’t, and it was hard to get those things to ring true. I hope I did her proud.

How many books are you shooting for in this series??

Class Vamp won’t be part of a series, but I’m considering a sequel for Josie’s best friend, Carmen, who’s a total hoot. I think she needs a big, burly vamp to take her on.

What are you currently working on?

I’m beginning book two in the British Invasion series. Book one, U.K. Kink, was released in April.

Do you have anything due to release soon?

Nope, Class Vamp just released on June 15, so hopefully you’ll see something from me in late summer or early fall.

What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing?

Talking with readers! It’s crazy enough to think someone would spend their hard-earned money on something I wrote, but they’ve also been supportive and helpful and friendly. Plus I love meeting new people, so it’s been pretty wonderful.

Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover?

I was shocked that the artist pulled off realistic fangs. Lol! Beyond that, the simplicity was striking to me.

What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks?

I buy a lot of both, but in recent years I’ve definitely begun to prefer ebooks because of simple lack of space.

Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?

Horror! I’d looove to give that a whirl but I’m afraid I’d either suck or I’d scare myself (see the ghost question).

Okay…. personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there… Hahah… If you thought you were safe… Nah… Forgot it… Not a chance! We will start off slow and easy, I promise!

What is on your night stand/dresser?

My nook, tablet and phone, several pens, a crossword puzzle book and a very wrinkled copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray.

What are you listening to you right now?

Every punk band known to man.

What are you reading right now?

Dorian Gray (again), Nowhere Ranch, by Heidi Cullinan (again) and Caught by Menace, by Lolita Lopez.

What is your favorite season? Holiday?

Fall, hands down. I love everything about it. The colors, the crispness, the lack of sweating. 🙂 Holidays are a tight race between Halloween and Christmas, but I think Santa wins by a “ho”.

And what has been your best b-day present ever??

A surprise trip to Vegas, complete with Tom Jones concert. Say what you want about the guy but the old man’s still got it. Lol!

Hard and Quick Time! Don’t think… Just answer! Okay, before we go this route, I will get us a refill on our drinks… I will be right back…

Babysitting a British dance troupe isn’t one of Caitlin’s career aspirations, but before she can say “male strippers”, she finds herself the newly appointed caretaker for the Fire from Lancashire. Then one of his mates comes up with a way for Oliver to get his cake while the rest eat too. Their employer might fire one man for ravishing Cait…but certainly not all of them. Right? After one taste, Oliver knows she’s definitely worth the risk of finding out.

*Author Interview* The Butler Did It by Kate Deveaux

The Butler Did It

Vi Martin, a successful multi-millionaire businesswoman, is in for a surprise when the domestic agency sends her a new butler for her swanky Miami retreat. Drop dead gorgeous Clarkson Dale is the consummate professional butler until he meets his new employer. Strictly professional by day but all bets are off at night when they explore their fantasies. The sparks fly and their attraction is undeniable when they break all the rules when Michel, Vi’s gorgeous young French-trained chef joins Clarkson and Vi in exploring her deeper sexual tastes.  www.katedeveaux.com (Total E-Bound Publishing, Pre-Order June 2013)

Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself…. Something that we cannot Google about you, lol!
Umm, well let’s see. I’m a Virgo, surprise surprise, very organized. I once lived in a little village along the Amalfi Coast and I love Russian history.
Tell us a little about your book?
“The Butler Did It’ is a twist on a Downton Abbey/ Upstairs Downstairs with a contemporary setting and a red hot butler, Clarkson Dale, and his sexy self assured boss, Vivienne Martin. Vi likes to break the rules and it turns out so does Clarkson when work turns to play.
How much emotion does it take from you to write?
An amazing amount, to be in the mind of the characters is all encompassing. But it’s fun!
What is your favorite part of the book?
I love the scene in the dining room…..and later in the bathtub….
You can only pick 3 words for your main characters…what would they be? *to describe your main characters*
Vivienne Martin           sensual, strong willed and adventuresome
Clarkson Dale             refined, seductive and self assured
Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why??
Michel was probably the hardest to write, he’s the Chef. He’s young and more on the outskirts of the story until he becomes a very important element in fulfilling Vi’s fantasies. Ménage scenes are always tricky, a lot to keep track of with three in a sex scene instead of two. Nothing’s worse than a character sitting there twiddling their thumbs while the other two go at it!  Lol
How many books are you shooting for in this series??
Oh, I can’t wait to write a few more…definitely three or four, maybe more.
What are you currently working on?
‘Bimini Bound,’ an erotic romance. Mistaken identity and voyeurism bring a super sexy younger man and a curvaceous older woman together on board a luxury yacht in the Bahamas.
Do you have anything due to release soon?
After “Butler Did It,’ I have a sizzling erotic romance coming out August 1st, Academy of Love. Lovers reunited and all that good stuff, set at a prim and proper girl’s boarding school.
What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing?
There are so many things, but I think I love just getting down on paper whatever story line, characters, etc. pop into my mind.

Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover?
Loved it. Very sexy.
What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks?
I read both, but confess since I got my Kindle, I do read a lot of ebooks.
Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?
Maybe historical.

Okay…. personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there… Hahah…

If you thought you were safe… Nah… Forgot it… Not a chance! We will start off slow and easy, I promise!

What is on your night stand/dresser?

Stack of paperbacks, photo of hubbie and me, and lip balm.
What are you listening to you right now?
Il Divo. Went to the concert, loved it.
What are you reading right now?
Art of Pleasure, by Ella Laurence,  Whiskey Beach, Nora Roberts. Just finished Tory Richard’s Instant Attraction. Very Good!
What is your favorite season? Holiday?
Fall used to be my favorite season when I lived further north, but now that I live in the desert I like summer. I like it hot! It’s so peaceful in the desert in the summer, it’s something I look forward to all year long.
And what has been your best b-day present ever??
A surprise weekend getaway to a Spa with some of my girlfriends about ten years ago.

Hard and Quick Time! Don’t think… Just answer! Okay, before we go this route, I will get us a refill on our drinks… I will be right back…

You know you do… Quickie time… Think fast….
Are you a quickie kind girl?    Sometimes
Dark or Milk Chocolate?         Dark
Whipped or Melted?   Whipped
Straight up or with a twist – sex?         Twist
What’s ur fave drink – in a glass or on him?    Gin Martini, lemon twist.

Little do they know, the greatest danger lies closer to home. www.sarahcastille.com  (Samhain Publishing – April 2013)

  • I have three little DDs who used to want to be authors but then decided to be circus contortionists instead because writing is too much work.
  • I was once attacked by an owl. Now I collect them. No, not stuffed. That one got away.

Tell us a little about your book?
Legal Heat is am erotic romantic suspense about an ambitious young lawyer who indulges her sexual fantasies with a man who turns out to be opposing counsel in the most important case of her career. Oh, and there is a villain. A nasty one. And intrigue. Murder, too. I think that’s it. Except for the smex. Which is smokin’ hot. And plentiful.

You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters* Mark – Smokin’ hot smex; Katy – ambitious, determined, adventurous
Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why??
I always find men easier to write. Less complicated. Less emotional. Simple creatures, really J
The heroine was the most difficult to write. She had had such a difficult past, I wanted her to have her happily ever after right away. Instead, I put her through the emotional wringer and had her shot. I am mean, mean, mean.
How many books are you shooting for in this series??
Three. The second book, Barely Undercover (Lana and James’ story) will be released by Samhain in December. After that I’ll be working on Tony’s story.
What are you currently working on?
I have a contemporary MMA fighter romance, Against the Ropes being released by Sourcebooks Casablanca in September. I’m in the process of finishing up the second book in that series.
Do you have anything due to release soon?
Against the Ropes, an MMA fighter romance will be released in September!

Immersing myself completely in a different world and feeling emotions I would never normally experience.

Dyletri, God of Fertility, has locked away his powers. No woman is allowed to touch him, not until he can return his long-dead lover back to life. All he has to do is sacrifice one human girl, a girl who unlocks his powers and rips his dormant lust right out of his body. Trapped by his promise, Dyletri has no choice but to watch Ismini die, no matter how much he wants her.

Yet the darkness of his calling is spiraling within him, demanding he claim the human as his. If he goes back on his promise, the energy of the Fates will cause untold destruction in the Universe. That doesn’t change how Dyletri’s begun exhibiting symptoms that point to more than just lust. How does he allow Ismini to die when she’s come to own him from the inside out?

Desire and torment spiral into something much darker than obsession, more turbulent than an addiction, and something much more brutal than a mere soul-mating. As a war is being rekindled right under his nose, Dyletri will have to come to terms with a destiny eleven thousand years in the making. He thought he’d known what path his future would take, but he’d been wrong. Now the one woman he truly loves might pay the price for his decision.

Blood Flows Deep in the Empire is the first in a series that will pit free will against Destiny, Destiny against Fate, and love against brutal desire. Everyone likes to think they have a choice as to who they end up with, but as they rise to face the greatest threat they’ve ever known, even the Gods will learn they have to bend to Destiny’s whim to survive.

************
Ladies and gents, please put together a warm, hussy welcome for this wonderful author…
Let’s welcome… Ms. Blanco!

Tell us a little about your book?

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? It’s a complicated story. In a nutshell, though, it’s the mix-mash of my love for all things Paranormal, Action, Sci-Fi, Mythology…and sex. It’s definitely an Erotica novel.
How much emotion does it take from you to write?
Just finished part two of the series. *Inner android voice* Life Force: Drained.
What is your favorite part of the book?
The love scenes. Definitely. Dyletri was yummy and I loved spending time in his head while he claimed his mate.
You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters*
Stubborn. Determined…Horny. Yes, I went there. LOL
Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why??
They all fall into both categories. On one hand, there’s the things they do that I totally agree with. Then, sometimes, they take on a mind of their own and do their own things. At that point, I just gotta buckle up for the ride and see where they take me.
How many books are you shooting for in this series??
I have 9 books planned right now, with the series being split into 2 parts: The Rise of the Szolites & The War of Erebus.
Of course, that’s never a for-sure type of thing. There could be more books or there could be less. Just gotta see where it takes me once I get there :p
What are you currently working on?
Just finished Book 2, Blood Stained Tranquility. My next book is a Contemporary Romance/ Erotica named A Debt Repaid. Plan on finishing that one before the year is done.
Do you have anything due to release soon?
I’m aiming to have A Debt Repaid out by September or October. Then I’m hoping to have the next book in my Compulsions series, Compulsive Fascinations, out by December or January. Blood Stained Tranquility is scheduled to come out next year but we have to finish editing before a release date is confirmed.
What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing?
Bringing these characters and their complicated worlds to life.
Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover?
I designed it along with L.J. Anderson. I saw the picture for it and just died right there. I have a thing for…*Ahem* well-defined men. They make Nyddi happy ^_^
What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks?
Both. I love adding to my library and I love having the book on my Kindle.
Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?
Nope. I’m pretty much diving into all my favorite genres with this one series alone J
Okay…. personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there… Hahah…
If you thought you were safe… Nah… Forgot it… Not a chance! We will start off slow and easy, I promise!
What is on your night stand/dresser? Books. Lots of them. Now, ask me what’s inside it and I’ll give you a really juicy answer :p
What are you listening to you right now? Snake Skin’s “Bite Me”. I fluv the weirdness of it!
What are you reading right now? Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza. It’s a freaking…awesome…book! No sex in it, which hurts me on the physical level I cannot describe, but it delivers in every other aspect.
What is your favorite season? Holiday? Season: Spring. Holiday? Umm…any that I don’t have to be at the 9-5. More writing!
And what has been your best b-day present ever?? My son. He came two months after, but whatever. Best thing I was ever given by far.

Spank or Flogger? Both, please.
Junk or Health Food? The word “both” is the official theme of this interview, I see…
Ties or Chains? I’m single. Been for a while. Ergo, you’re causing me pain with the questions. But both, yes.

Short Excerpt:
“You’re so beautiful, girl. Just looking at you drives me wild.”

That new, demonic half of his voice had to be the sexiest thing she had ever heard.

His words were even more so.

Dyletri’s expression made her arch into him, made her want to believe him. His thumb caressed her lips, and before Ismini realized it, she was once again moving on instinct. She opened her mouth and tilted her head, sucking the digit right in. A shock of power shot into her mouth, almost as if she’d put her tongue into an electrical socket.

Ismini loved every bit of it. She sighed around his thumb, sucking it deeper.

Dyletri moaned, baring his teeth. She bit down on his flesh, her stare locked on his large canines.

She had no right to his blood, but Ismini wanted it inside her. That should have scared her. In reality, Ismini was too far gone for that shit. Fear had no place inside her. Only need and hunger.

And insanity.

Because that’s what he brought out in her.

His thumb slipped out of her mouth, and she pouted, a hungry mewl leaving her. Dyletri cupped her face, lifting her head and lowering himself onto her.

His lips stopped a mere breath away from hers, his exhalations leaking in between her lips and sliding over her tongue. Ismini froze, realizing what he intended. And knowing damned well that she had no experience when it came to kissing.

Dyletri sensed her hesitation, and he stopped, as well. Every inch of that big, hard body was touching her. He was breathing hard, and his brow furrowed as he stared at her. She could see that he was confused, that he was wondering why she’d stopped.

In that moment she wanted to kick herself for being such an idiot. She was afraid that what she was about to say would turn him off.

“I—I’ve never . . . I don’t know how,” she whispered, dropping her gaze to his lips. She couldn’t stand to see the reality seep back into his face.

But Dyletri surprised her. As he lowered his head, he held hers still, and he placed a gentle but intensity-filled kiss to her cheek. A spark of energy pulsed through every cell of her skin.

“I know,” he murmured, placing another kiss closer to her mouth. And another. And yet another. “I’m dying to be the first one to show you . . . dying to be the first one to taste you. To take you.”

He thrust against her as he spoke, licking the corner of her lips when he talked about tasting her.

Her mouth fell open, and she moaned. “Dyletri.” His lips landed on hers, and a groan escaped him, the sound hitting her straight on. She wasn’t sure who opened first, but it was definitely she who sucked in his bottom lip, pulling it between her teeth. With heavy-lidded eyes, she watched his lip curl. Another growl left him, and his incisors grew even longer.

Then his fingers on her jaw became almost brutal, forcing her open, holding her still even though all she wanted to do was attack him. The urge grew when his tongue slid in, moving against hers. It was hotter than any other part of him. Sinuous and sinful in every way.

All lingering uncertainty flew right out the window. Their breaths and moans mixed as her tongue connected with his.

Amazing. He was fucking amazing, and the way his tongue tasted was nothing short of sexual. She’d never had sex, of course, but her body knew that was what he tasted like. Ismini swirled her tongue around his, opening her mouth further for him and tilting her head.

Dyletri thrust against her, over and over, his dick pressed right where she needed it. His tongue mimicked the movement of his hips, making her tighten her legs around him and pull him close.

Every moan out of his mouth was like a bolt straight between her legs. Every rock of his hips was answered by one of her own. Her hands traced every muscle on his back, fondled every ridge.

So much power.

She could feel him holding back. She knew it was probably because she was human and he had the power to break her and yet, she wanted him to. She needed him to. She was dying for him to just slam into her with everything he had until there was nothing left of her.

Dyletri pulled his head back, one elongated tooth stinging Ismini’s lower lip as he gave her a gentle bite. She cried out, the thought of him tasting her blood sending her into a frenzy.

It was an instant deluge. She began thrusting against him, her nails digging into unyielding flesh. Her moans escalated. Her orgasm was right there and already washing over her.

Until he pulled away. Again.

A growl rumbled behind her words, warping her voice. “Dyletri.” He laughed darkly, looking way too amused for her liking. “I swear to fucking God—”

He grabbed on to the waistband of her pants, his fingers harsh. “I am your fucking god!” Oh . . . oh my . . . “You’re not coming until I let you to, got it?”

About the Author:
N. Isabelle Blanco was born in Queens, NY (USA). At age 3, due to an odd fascination with studying her mother’s handwriting, she had already begun to read and write. By the time she’d reached kindergarten, she had an extensive vocabulary and her obsession with words began to bleed into every aspect of her life. An avid reader in her teens, a fascination with Japanese anime eventually led her to the universe of fanfiction.
Her on again, off again hobby for the next ten years, She amassed a following of fans that, by her own admission, she would never be able to live without. It was those fans who encouraged her to step beyond the fanfiction realm and try her talent in the publishing world.

N. Isabelle’s first ebook, “Destructively Alluring”, came out July 2012, followed by “Addictive Lunacy” in September. The third novella in this debut series, “Allure Magnified,” is due in November 2012 and her first full-length novel is due out next spring.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ladies and gents, please put together a warm, smutty welcome for a new author to me!
Let’s welcome…
Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself…. Something that we cannot Google about you, lol! I’m a stay at home mom with two kids and have been with my husband for nineteen years. My favorite thing to do besides writing is baking. If I’m not in my office writing, I’m in my kitchen baking up blueberry muffins, red velvet cupcakes or sugar cookies.
Tell us a little about your book? Give Me Forever is an erotic paranormal romance. When Serena meets her soul mate Alex, she has already fallen for another man, Nick. Alex is a player and doesn’t want to be tied down to anyone, especially the vampire king’s daughter. Threats to the kingdom bring Alex and Serena together and they fight their need to be with one another. Their souls are yearning to be together and their feelings are hard to deny. After heartache and tragedy, they finally give in. Not everyone is happy about their union, especially the king, Serena’s father, Sebastian.
How much emotion does it take from you to write? Writing a book is an emotional roller coaster. This is especially true when you write about relationships and you draw from your own personal experiences. It takes a lot out of me and I have to decompress with music after writing a difficult scene.
What is your favorite part of the book? My favorite part of the book is when Serena and Alex meet for the first time.
You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters*
Serena: Loyal, Sexual, Determined
Alex: Immature, Protective, Fierce
Nick: Respectful, Honorable, Kind
Sebastian: Leader, Ruthless, Fearless
Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why?? The easiest character to write was Nick. He is so sweet and honorable, it was easy to write about him. The hardest was Sebastian. He is such a hardass, and frankly a jerk sometimes. I wanted to portray him for who he really is, but I didn’t want my readers to hate him. Underneath the tough exterior, there is a small soft spot, but I don’t want to say anymore. I have to leave the rest for his book!
How many books are you shooting for in this series?? It was 6 but now it’s looking more like 9!
What are you currently working on? I am working on the next full length novel in my Paranormal City series. It’s book 5 and is titled, Give Me Your Love. The release date is fall 2013.
Do you have anything due to release soon? I just had my fourth book in my Paranormal City series, Give Me Pleasure, released on May 14th.
What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing? The escape into another world.
Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover? Wowza! Yup, that was my first thought! It was so hot, and beautiful I was blown away.
What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks? Ebooks I’m all for instant gratification lol. I love that I can get a book I want in a few seconds on my ereader.
Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try? I would like to one day try my hand at a dystopian novel. I even have an idea written down but I’m hesitant to move forward with it. I also have a YA fantasy novel started. I’m hesitant to move forward with that one too. What’s my reason? Well, like anything new, it’s unchartered territory for me and that makes me apprehensive.
Okay…. personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there… Hahah…
If you thought you were safe… Nah… Forgot it… Not a chance! We will start off slow and easy, I promise!
What is on your night stand/dresser? Clock/radio, and a box of tissues.
What are you listening to you right now? I listen to so many bands and artists of so many different genres. Most recently, like the past week, I’ve been listening to a lot of Fall Out Boy, Walk The Moon, Falling In Reverse, and My Chemical Romance.
What are you reading right now? Nothing! That’s because I’m in the middle of writing my next novel and I don’t like any distractions during the process.
What is your favorite season? Holiday? My favorite season is the Fall and my favorite holiday is Halloween. I love the crisp air, changing leaves, and fall festivities like apple and pumpkin picking.
And what has been your best b-day present ever?? My best b-day present ever was on my 30thbirth day my husband bought into the Disney Vacation Club (Disney’s timeshare at Walt Disney World). I love Disney world and this gift has enabled me to spend every year at Walt Disney World, my happy place!
Hard and Quick Time! Don’t think… Just answer! Okay, before we go this route, I will get us a refill on our drinks… I will be right back…
You know you do… Quickie time… Think fast….
Are you a quickie kind girl? Sometimes
Dark or Milk Chocolate? Dark
With apprehension I answered, “Serena. My name is Serena, and no I don’t believe we’ve met before.” Unsure of what his reaction would be, I waited for his reply.
A look of realization flickered across his features. “I’m honored to meet you Serena.” He took my hand in his and kissed it gently. “I had no idea Sebastian’s daughter would be so exquisite.”
I remained silent, not knowing what to do. The knowledge of who I was would either make him want to get closer or run far away from me. Either way most men treaded very carefully around me and I knew my father was the reason.
“What brings you to a place like this, Serena? I wouldn’t imagine your father approving.” He spoke with a sexy grin that made me wish he would make a move on me.
“It’s my birthday! Besides, I’m actually here often. I’ve never seen you here before. Where you been hiding?” I asked with a flirtatious smile.
“I’ve been out of town for awhile and got back recently. Looks like I have perfect timing. Please tell me you’re here alone and that I’m just catching you after a feeding instead of a celebratory screw.”
Instinctively I moved closer to him, my eyes never leaving his. “I’m here painfully alone.” Our attraction hummed in the air as we stood locked in a heated stare.
Casually, Gage extended his hand out to move a strand of hair away from my face. “No one should be alone on their birthday.”
Celeste Carrara is a self-published author of the erotic paranormal romance series Paranormal City. A stay at home wife and mother, Celeste never dreamed she would be so fortunate to be a full-time writer. She resides in New York City with her husband of over fifteen years and their two children. All of Carrara’s books are based in her hometown, her favorite city Manhattan.
As a child she loved reading and used her writing of poetry as a way to escape her troubled childhood. Life got in the way, and her reading took a back seat to raising her kids. After her children became self-sufficient, and she had more time on her hands, her sister told her about a “hot new paranormal romance” she had to read. Celeste jumped in and returned to her love of reading. Always fascinated by all things paranormal, and a lover of romance, Celeste devoured every paranormal romance she could find. She has always liked her books with some spice so it came as no surprise she found erotic romance.
All this reading sparked the writer within. An idea for a story came to her one day and she decided to put it on paper. Soon, the ideas were flowing and she couldn’t stop writing. With encouragement from her husband, and best friend, Celeste completed her first novel, Give Me Forever, and hasn’t looked back. Currently she is working on more books of the Paranormal City series as well as stand-alone erotic romances.
*Author Interview* Guardians by Veronica Bennett
Guardians by Veronica Bennett
Imagine being the strongest being in existence. It could get a little boring, right?  The Guardians knew this all too well. After centuries of unrivaled governance, the Guardians began to turn on each other. Their sadistic leader played his men like pawns and war soon swallowed the kingdom.  When the Guardians flushed out all the corrupt, they were cast out into the unexplored realms beyond the kingdom. From that point on the realms were split between the two opposing sides, the Guardians and the Fallen. Little did they know there was one more player, the humans. Earth rested smack in the middle of the two territories and the two seemed intent on tearing it to pieces as they deemed the new-found planet their battleground.
Azalea Johnson is no typical human, but that’s news to her. In fact, the humans are completely unaware of the war that is threatening their existence. Since its beginning, the war has been fought in secret. It is kept hidden, fought on the very edges of human existence. The Guardians fought to keep the humans out of direct fire, but the Fallen’s influence did not go completely unnoticed. Their tainted energy began to change the humans. They learned to hate and lie, and the human’s corruption only fed the Fallen’s numbers. When the Guardians discovered that they may in fact lose the war, they too took advantage of the impressionable humans … but they took it a step further. They created a human.
Azalea is born with a bright red target on her back and spends 18 long years on Earth blissfully unaware of what she is. She was created with the ability to possess the power of each of the Guardian elders. She is an unparalleled weapon whose loyalty will ultimately determine the outcome of the war… but there is just one problem. Being human means Azalea was born with a touch of the Fallen’s tainted energy, and being able to harness the power of both the Guardians and the Fallen makes her vulnerable to both. When the Guardians, desperate to protect their insurance, steal Azalea away from earth, the question remains. Were all of the tainted Guardians removed during their revolt, or is there something stronger brewing?
Life for Azalea becomes a dangerous game of hide and seek and her days are no longer minutes to outrun, but seconds to survive.
****************
Ladies and gents, I am very happy to say that I was able to get Ms. Bennett to sit down with me and have a little conversation with me… She is such a great person! I hope you enjoy her as much as I do!
Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself…. Something that we cannot Google about you, lol!
Haha! Should I be worried about what Google DOES know about me?
I’m convinced cracking the cover of a book speeds up time. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve opened a book thinking I’d read for an hour and then looked up only to find its 3 a.m. I probably have more loves than any girl should, but reading, travel, fashion, and just getting lost (even if it’s only in my own head) top the list. Also I’m expecting to spend at least one year living in a major city, and at least one more in a secluded little mountain town. So, I guess it’s safe to say my future plans are far from set in stone. I don’t know where I’ll end up, but I’ve learned that planning for the destination is much less important than picking with road I’ll take to get there. Hey, I did say I liked getting lost. (Grin).
Tell us a little about your book?
Would you fight a war you didn’t believe was yours to fight, but would save millions? She did. Imagine being the strongest being in existence. It could get a little boring, right? The Guardians knew this all too well. After centuries of unrivaled governance, the Guardians began to turn on each other. Their sadistic leader played his men like pawns and war soon swallowed the kingdom. When the Guardians flushed out all the corrupt, they were cast out into the unexplored realms beyond the kingdom. How much emotion does it take from you to write?
It takes quite a bit of emotion for me to write. Usually, I’ll plug in my headphones until I can really get my thoughts together. For me, writing is connecting with that perpective and becoming the character, so whatever emotion you’re reading about is running through me as I write.
What is your favorite part of the book?
My favorite part begins at chapter 10 where, as Azalea learns more about the Guardians, things begin to crumble.
You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters*
Clever, stubborn, and untrusting.
.
Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why??
Cathy was by far the easiest and my most fun character to write. I absolutely love Cathy. You can’t help but love her. She is adorable, and hilarious, and honestly I have no idea where her character came from. But she also has secrets of her own, so she is quite a dynamic character to write. The hardest character to write was Aaron. Aaron is sort of tricky. He is constantly concerned and thinking of the future, but he is slightly self-righteous and a little arrogant.
How many books are you shooting for in this series??
Three!
What are you currently working on?
Currently I am working on book two of the Guardians series and book one of my new series “Division”.
Do you have anything due to release soon?
I’m hoping to have book two of the Guardians series out by next summer with “Division” soon after.
What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing?
I love writing because it seems natural, and yet it challenges me. It forces me out of my comfort zone as I write from different perspectives.
Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover?
It was a little weird at first because it wasn’t what I had planned for. It also was a little strange having my face starring right back at me. Haha!
What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks?
Paperbacks.
Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?
Romance or crime. I love reading both, but I’m definitely a little apprehensive to try my hand at it.
What is on your night stand/dresser?
The basics. A lamp, candles, two leather bound journals, and an alarm clock. Everything one needs for a late night of writing and an early morning.
What are you listening to you right now?
Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. They are my current obsession.
What are you reading right now?
Malfunction by Stewart Bint
What is your favorite season? Holiday?
Fall! I love when I can stand outside and feel that touch of chill in the end of the breeze.
I love love love Christmas; the music, the decorations, and how everything smells like cinnamon and pine. You just can’t beat it.
And what has been your best b-day present ever??
A shopping trip to international mall! It was my first time there and it was amazing.
Are you a quickie kind girl?
Yes. I’m pretty impatient.
Dark or Milk Chocolate?
Dark
Whipped or Melted?
Melted
What’s ur fave drink?
Iced coffee from Crispers
Junk or Health Food?
Ohhh that’s a tough one.  Junk.
Vampire or Werewolf?
Vampire
Twitter and/or Facebook?
Twitter
Pinterest or not?
Yes!
A little about this author that I thought might intrigue you….
Veronica Bennett is a twenty year old author and marketing professional who published her first book “Guardians” in March of 2013
I’ve always loved reading. Books are the one place where a person can be whoever they want. Anything and everything you want to find, whether its magic, witches, unicorns, vampires, superheros, or angels, you can find hiding in the worlds stored in rows on your shelves.  Growing up I wrote silly little stories that I always just tossed aside, until one day an idea struck me that I simply couldn’t shake. It followed me everywhere continuing to build until I finally gave in, picked up my laptop and started typing. Four years later I’ve built a world I hope all of you will enjoy getting lost in and love as much as I do.
I suppose I should tell you a little bit more about myself. I love art and travel. It’s my goal to see every inch of this world before I leave. Fashion is my morning obsession as I dot my floor with shoes and drape clothes over every available surface in my room while I try to assemble an outfit. Reading is my free time. I’m convinced cracking the cover of a book speeds up time. In those rare moments when there is nothing to do, and I’m bored with this world, I spend time in another. Finally, I am a compulsive daydreamer who is constantly absorbed into and lost in my thoughts. Without a map or compass, I just explore so that when I find my way out, I can recreate that world on paper. I love to write … shocker (grin), but most importantly I love meeting new people, so please check out the links above and say hi.
*Author Interview & Virtual Book Tour* Together in Cyn by Jennifer Kacey *Goddess Fish Tour*
Together in Cyn
 by Jennifer Kacey
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A small book sitting out on a table shouldn’t incite fear in anyone.
But what if that book was your diary and you learned your two best friends, men you have ached for your entire life, have just read every last word? Pages and pages filled with dark fantasies and forbidden dreams so explicit they leave nothing to the imagination.
And what if those two friends were included in every last one?
This is exactly where Cyn Andrews now finds herself.
Stuck somewhere between wanting to hate Jared and Chris Kennedy for violating her privacy and just plain wanting to be stuck somewhere between them. She could never choose only one brother, so she’s kept her feelings buried for more than a decade, and a past mistake has kept her silent and alone…until now.
Everything she’s ever wanted may have just been handed to her in the form of an invitation to The Library. Not just a building filled with books, but a members only BDSM club the brothers own and have kept hidden from her for years.
Is it pity or desire that fueled the invitation?
What other secrets have they been keeping from her?
Can she protect her heart and face her biggest fear while discovering the art of submitting to two Doms?
It’d be a sin not to find out…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself…. Something that we cannot Google about you, lol!
Tell us a little about your book? – Together in Cyn is about two brothers, Chris and Jared, and their best friend Cyn. They’ve wanted her for years but thought their needs too dark for her to handle. Then they find her diary and realize she is more suited to them, than they ever imagined. Chris has a harsh past and did everything in his power to protect Jared. He succeeded, but at a very high price. Cyn tried submitting once before and it went horribly wrong. They all want to make a go of a full time ménage relationship, but battered hearts prove difficult to repair. There is LOTS of sex (I added four naughty sex scenes during edits), BDSM from mild to holy shit, and a very VERY satisfying HEA.
How much emotion does it take from you to write? – Depends on the scene and the characters. I have boo-hoo’d, laughed, gasped, gotten pissed off. I hope every author of fiction is emotionally invested in their characters. That’s the only way to hook a reader into living in your world for a little while.
What is your favorite part of the book? – The last scene. Yowza. It’s the culmination of years of heartache and longing. Chris finally becomes the man he’s destined to be. Jared is able to give him the one thing he needs to heal – Cyn. And Cyn overcomes her past and fully commits to both brothers and ALL of their needs.
You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters* – Kinky. Determined. Inseparable.
Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why?? Cyn was the easiest because she’s a lot like me. She just gets to have A LOT more fun. Chris was the hardest, and honestly I didn’t REALLY get into his head until the first round of edits. Love the journey he took me on. Hope everyone roots for him as much as I did.
How many books are you shooting for in this series?? – Three, and then there will be an off shoot series of three as well. In TIC you’ve already met two of the main characters in the first book of that series. Scott and Kyle.
What are you currently working on? – The sequel to TIC which is Jenna, Nick and Ian’s book. Tentatively titled – Together Again.
Do you have anything due to release soon? – A Very Ménage Christmas which is a short story set in the same “space” as TIC. It involves characters you met in TIC as well. Jackson, Skye and Nick comes along for a little bit of fun, too. It will be released this fall from EC and you’ll never look at a candy cane the same again.
What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing? – I have complete control over everything that happens, and all my naughty gremlins running around in my head end up on my paper, instead of getting me into trouble. You know…mostly.
Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover? – Oh my holy F**K! I am the luckiest girl on the planet because I have the best, most beautiful, hottest cover EVER!!!
What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks? – ebooks! I can carry around hundreds of books on my kindle or ipad. Little hard to do that with paperbacks. I’m in good shape but—yeah, not that good!
Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try? – Paranormal. People go gaga over that genre, but I’m nervous to dip my toe in that water. If it’s great, then readers will eat it up. But if it’s bad…yeesh!
Okay…. personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there… Hahah…
If you thought you were safe… Nah… Forgot it… Not a chance! We will start off slow and easy, I promise!
What is on your night stand/dresser? – Clock, noise machine, a side light and a remote control light switch that is awesome!
What are you listening to you right now? – P!NK – Just Give Me a Reason (love this song!)
What are you reading right now? – Shannon McKenna’s Ultimate Weapon
What is your favorite season? Holiday? – Christmas
And what has been your best b-day present ever?? – A fireplace for my office at work. It’s AWESOME!
Hard and Quick Time! Don’t think… Just answer! Okay, before we go this route, I will get us a refill on our drinks… I will be right back…
You know you do… Quickie time… Think fast….
Are you a quickie kind girl? – Hell Yeah!
Dark or Milk Chocolate? – Dark, ‘cause once you go black…
Whipped or Melted? – Whipped of course.
Straight up or with a twist – sex? – Twist.
What’s ur fave drink – in a glass or on him? – Pecan Caramel Crunch Milkshake from Denny’s. That is an orgasm in a glass. You can decide which one of us likes it more.
Spank or Flogger? – Spank. Nothing compares to the heat of a man’s hand on your ass. It’s personal.
Junk or Health Food? – Junk Food. J
Ties or Chains? – Chains. Umm…
Leather or Lace? – Today-Lace. Tomorrow-anybody’s guess.
Soft or Hard… Bed, where was your mind? – Hard. There is no other correct answer to this one.
Control or Be Controlled? – Be Controlled.
Hot Wax or Whip Cream? – On me hot wax. On him whip cream. I can’t lick off hot wax.
Vampire or Werewolf? – Vampire. Hairy dudes freak me out.
Twitter and/or Facebook? – Facebook all the way. The only reason twitter gets a workout at all is because I have FB tied to it.
Pinterest or not? – OMG yes. Completely and totally addicted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My mouth went dry and mortification settled in deep like it was going to stay a while when I registered what Jared said while I was trying to outlast him.
“You’ve heard what the past few nights?” I exhaled noisily and reached for my necklace again.
“The high pitched whirl of a vibrator, Cyn. I’ve heard it every night coming from your bedroom. We don’t think jilling really counts as sex because you’re flying solo. So I wondered why you aren’t involved with someone other than your purple boyfriend. And why you’ve all of a sudden taken up to jilling so often. Any particular reason? Case of laidicus not enoughicus?””
He finished his beer and when he leaned back, involuntarily I glanced down to his lap. An impressive hard-on strained the faded jeans he normally wore at the bar and my temples started pounding as blood rushed to my head.
“You’ve listened to me…masturbating?” I snapped my gaze back up to his face and over to Chris who stood behind the bar drying a glass. Just a simple glance heated my insides. Need pooled low in my belly and it was all I could do not to rub my thighs together to alleviate the ache.
Damn, he was as tantalizing as his brother, but the opposite in coloring. Darker in every way. Brown hair cut short and chocolate eyes a girl could happily drown in. But they held secrets I’d always been afraid to uncover. Tonight was different though. He looked…hungry.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:
I’m going to just jump right in and get the easy stuff out of the way up-front. I am a wife, mother and business owner in Texas with very long black hair and a penchant for high heels and pretty outrageous toe nail polish. I have a very supportive family that I love unconditionally and am fortunate enough to genuinely like and respect them as well.
I started reading romance back in college, liked it so-so, and then I found erotica. Stories a bit on the dark side, a lot on the naughty side, and at the risk of sounding cheesy, it felt like coming home. Finding a genre made just for minds like mine was an amazing revelation, and I swear the characters in my head haven’t stopped hounding me since!
Something I always love reading about other authors are the funny quirks and idiosyncrasies that make each of us unique, so I thought I’d share a few of mine. These are in no particular order and pretty random, so brace yourselves…
I am a morning person who doesn’t drink caffeine, and I am definitely a glass-half-full kind of girl. I have an extreme case of being left-hand stupid and am bad at all sports that end in “ball”!  Hot weather is my favorite because I’m cold all the time, and I adore lying in the sun. You’ll find a closed sign hanging off my forehead at 10 p.m. pretty much every night when my brain clocks out. What’s weird is I can write ‘til the wee hours of the morning though. Probably because the characters just shove me aside so they can say their piece.
Ooh, and I never procrastinate! If something needs to be done today, it should have been finished yesterday. I call this fantastic; several people, who shall remain nameless, call it having a bug up my A**… I think I’ll stick with fantastic.
I refuse to use a flat sheet to sleep, I love perfume but only one kind, and before I die I want to own flip-flops in every color of the rainbow. And last but not least, the yea or nay on a particular food being deemed good or gross is based off of texture first, taste second.
I hope my writing speaks for itself, and I hope it speaks to you.  The fact that I have the opportunity to share a little piece of myself with you absolutely floors me. On a daily basis I am overwhelmed by the good fortune that is my life, and vowed years ago never to take it for granted.
Best advice I’ve ever been given – find the real you and never settle for anything less!  Well guess what?  I found her!  Lord help the rest of you.

Ladies and gents of the Lair, I would like for you to put a warm welcome to wonderfully new author to me! Let’s welcome Ms. Rizzio!
Thanks for having me on your blog today Cecile.

You are quite welcome Ms. Rizzo! 🙂 I enjoy having over new to me authors and spotlighting their stories!
Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself…. Something that we cannot Google about you, lol!
Something you can’t google?  I’m pretty much an open book. Let’s see . . . I can’t spell.  Seriously, I’m so bad I can’t even get it close enough for spell-checker to help sometimes.
Tell us a little about your book.
He Belongs to Me is a love story that weaves in elements of betrayal and courtroom legalities. Catherine graduates from college, eager to start a new life with her six-year-old son, Drew. But when she tries to bring him home, her parents refuse to relinquish control of the grandson they’d raised.
Wrongly accused of a horrible crime, Thomas Boyd has buried himself in his career, determined to forget his painful past and the family he lost. But now, five years later, Catherine is back, requesting his help to regain custody of their son — custody he thought she had.
Though older and wiser, when courtroom battles reveal lies and secrets and generations of pain, will Thomas and Catherine find more tragedy and loss, or will old wounds finally heal?

How much emotion does it take from you to write?
Interesting question. You know, usually writing doesn’t really take emotion from me, per say, but energizes me. There are those times when I am writing something sad or emotional and I actually cry when or chuckle out loud when writing a scene. But most times, it’s fun. I usually only write about two to three hours at a time, and then get up and do something else to recharge my batteries.
What is your favorite part of the book?
I have several favorite parts, most of them are critical emotional moments I can’t talk about without spoiling the story for those who haven’t yet read it.  But one of my favorite parts is an unexpectedly humorous scene where Catherine is trying to make friends with Thomas.  They have this pretend reconciliation, but they’ve been apart for many years and Catherine wants them to put aside the old baggage and be friends again—but she doesn’t come out and tell Thomas this, she just tries to be nice to him and make him like her. She read in a magazine that guys love foot massages so she decides to try it . . . while he’s trying to watch a football game. Yeah . . . it’s kind of funny.
You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters*
Catherine is . . . genuine, determined, loving.
Thomas is . . . loyal, caring, protective

Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why??
The easiest characters to write was Drew because he’s a secondary character who is a kid. Kids see the world pretty simply—it’s adults who complicate things.
How many books are you shooting for in this series??
One. This is a stand-alone book.
What are you currently working on? Do you have anything due to release soon?
I’m revising and polishing my next book, Just Destiny, coming out in the Fall.
Jenny is a beautiful young woman whose seemingly perfect marriage to Gabe is shattered by a tragic accident that leaves her husband brain dead. Devastated at the sudden loss, she decides to preserve the best of their love by harvesting Gabe’s sperm for later insemination.
But her husband’s powerful, grieving uncle, the man who raised him, thinks of Jenny as a gold digger and is willing to risk exposing long-held family secrets in court to stop her.
The prospect of a grueling trial tests Jenny’s resolve, until an unexpected ally comes to her aid giving her the opportunity to win and the possibility of a second chance at happiness.
What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing?
I love that I can create characters that each have a piece of me in them. I can express the meanness and cattiness in me through some characters like Shelly and the grandparents, and then I can be sweet and loving and smart and witty through my hero and heroine.  I can kill people without going to jail (in other books) and I can have hot passionate sex with a young thing without being labeled a cougar or without being unfaithful to my husband.
That’s pretty sweet if you ask me.
Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover?
Honestly? My first thought was, “that’s not what Thomas and Catherine look like!” But I loved the feeling of tenderness the pose evoked and loved the colors and fonts used.
What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks?
I’m torn. I prefer the paperback, however the practical side loves ebooks—especially when traveling or reading in bed.  For travel and reading in bed, there’s no comparison.
Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?
Nope.  I’ve written a couple of romantic suspenses I will publish next year after my women’s fiction works. If I’m passionate about the story and it happens to be in a different genre I’m familiar with, then it just means I’ve got more work to do to learn the genre expectations and research.  But I’m pretty content writing within women’s fiction, romance and romantic suspense.  I’ll read those other genres.
Okay…. personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there… Hahah…
If you thought you were safe… Nah… Forgot it… Not a chance! We will start off slow and easy, I promise!
What is on your night stand/dresser?
My chapstick, kindle, TV controls and reading glasses, lamp, notepad and pen, and coaster.
What is your favorite season? Holiday?
Favorite season hands down is Fall—the colors and smells are a feast for the sense. Holiday? Well, who doesn’t love Christmas?  (besides the person who had a traumatic event happen at Christmas or the kid who grew up poor and felt left out and forgotten, but I’m thinking of most folks)
And what has been your best b-day present ever??
Gosh, way to put me on the spot . . . I have four kids, you know– who stalk me on the internet—and are very competitive!  They get that from their father, btw.  Best present? AH HA!  For my fiftieth birthday, my kids made me this ‘Fifty things I appreciate about Mom’ thing and sent me to the spa for a massage.
Hard and Quick Time! Don’t think… Just answer! Okay, before we go this route, I will get us a refill on our drinks… I will be right back…
You know you do… Quickie time… Think fast….
Are you a quickie kind girl?
Absolutely!
Dark or Milk Chocolate?
Both
Whipped or Melted?
Whipped
Straight up or with a twist?
Neither
What’s ur fave drink?
Coke Zero
Junk or Health Food?
French fries and bacon—Is that healthy or Junk food?
Vampire or Werewolf?
Don’t gasp or crucify me—neither
Twitter and/or Facebook?
Facebook
Pinterest or not?
I can’t—I just can’t. Don’t have the time and suspect I’d love it
Short Bio-Theresa Rizzo is an award-winning author who writes emotional stories that explore the complexity of relationships and families through real-life trials.

Born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, she currently lives outside of Boulder, Colorado with her husband of thirty years. She’s raised four wonderful children who are now scattered across the country.

Biography of Author Theresa Rizzo

Born into an Irish-Italian family, there was never a dull moment in Theresa Rizzo’s home growing up in Grosse Point, Mich.

And despite her struggle as a child with mild dyslexia, Rizzo loved books and became a voracious reader. Still, growing up the daughter of a nurse and a general surgeon, Rizzo hadn’t considered a career in writing. She studied to be a registered nurse in college in Riverdale, New York, when she also married her high school sweetheart and moved to Long Island.

They later relocated to the suburbs of Chicago, then headed to the west coast for five years in sunny San Diego, Calif. before settling down near Boulder, Colo.

Writing became Rizzo’s creative outlet, and almost a type of therapy for her while dealing with the every day stresses as a mom of four.

Creating manuscripts for over 16 years, Rizzo is now an award-winning writer who pens emotional stories that explore the complexity of relationships and families through real-life trials. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America and the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, and serves as the co-coordinator of the annual Crested Butte Writers Conference where she debuts her first novel “He Belongs to Me” in June.

EMOTIONAL COURTROOM DRAMA, LOVE STORY CAPTURES FAMILY CONFLICTS

Debut novel coming this summer from award-winning writer Theresa Rizzo

BOULDER, Colorado – April 15, 2013 – Author Theresa Rizzo does not believe that love can conquer all, but without it, there’s no chance. Rizzo’s debut novel, “He Belongs to Me” (June 2013), is a love story that weaves in elements of betrayal, courtroom legalities, and a young mother’s determination to recover what is rightfully hers.

Forced to leave her baby and tricked into relinquishing her parental rights, Catherine Boyd is back four years later, ready to do whatever it takes to reclaim custody of her son, even if it means reconciling with the husband who was falsely accused of killing their son’s twin.

“The 20s are tough years, and young adults naturally make mistakes, but some mistakes have such crazy consequences that affect you for the rest of your life,” Rizzo explains. “Some mistakes are so hard to recover from, but redemption is a theme I enjoy writing about. Must be the optimist in me.”
Young lovers, experienced parents and courtroom fanatics will all find something for their reading taste within the pages of “He Belongs to Me.”

New York Times bestselling author Susan Wiggs said Rizzo’s “perfect blend of suspense and romance” is “for readers who can’t resist a page-turner.”

And Rizzo “knows how to speak to the heart,” says New York Times bestselling author William Bernhardt.

Rizzo is a national award-winning author and one of the driving forces behind the annual Crested Butte Writers Conference. She lives outside Boulder, Colorado with her husband of 30 years. Raising four children with her high school sweetheart has taught her a thing or two about relationships and parenting.

Montana Mustangs

The Nymph Series Book 2
Danica Winters
Publisher: Crimson Romance
Length: 60k words
Publication Date: May 6, 2013
Heat Level: Sensual, m/f, HEA
A Nymph.  A woman with the ability to seduce at will, shift to protect, but cursed with the fate to have the man she falls in love with die a tragic death.  As one of the ill-fated nymphs, Aura Montgarten has spent her lifetime drifting from one place to another hiding from love.  Until she meets Dane.
When a body washes up on the shore of a rural Montana lake, police officer Dane Burke is faced with the task of finding the killer—even if it means he will be forced to put his life and heart at risk by working with a drifter.  As the truth of Aura’s Mustang-shifting Nymph ways are revealed, Dane learns exactly the amount of danger he and Aura are in, but can’t force himself to leave a case unsolved when the truth is right outside of his grasp.
When the killer decides he needs to take another victim—Dane—Aura must choose between their forbidden love and her immortal life…  Can there be life without love, or is death her only choice?

Let’s give Ms. Winters a wonderful warm, hussy welcome!

Since you are a new to me author, I am hoping to bring you to the light of others! So share away!

Tell us a little about your book?Well, I could give you the tried and true blurb, but you want something not on Google so—As you can except, I love this book.  I have the pleasure of being from Montana and my love the outdoors shaped my writing of Montana Mustangs.  I tried to integrate the majestic blues and golden yellows of the mountains and the valleys and the icy fingers of a cold fall wind in our little Northwest corner where we could almost kick a ball and have it land in Canada.

Also, I have a fun relationship with my fans on Facebook—my fans actually named the two main characters Aura Montgarten and Dane Burke based on pictures and descriptions I provided.  I love doing this with my fans!  So if you are a fan you should expect to take part in at least one round of voting for: “What’s my name?” J

How much emotion does it take from you to write? Great question.  This book is a murder mystery/paranormal so  as I was writing I had to delve deep into the fear and guilt that comes to those who feel responsible for the kidnapping and possible death of a loved one.

What is your favorite part of the book? There is a scene in which they horseback up a mountainside in search of evidence.  I had the unique pleasure of going horse backing into the high mountain lakes of Montana to ‘research’ the scene.  It was so much fun—and I caught my limit of fish!

What was your favorite scene to write?  There are so many things that come to mind, but I love the opening scene in which the main hero, Dane, finds a hand floating in Flathead Lake.

You can only pick 3 words for your main characters..what would they be? *to describe your main characters* Aura: Headstrong, mysterious, and lonely
Dane: Jaded, determined, and work-centered

Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why?? The easiest character had to be Aura—I think I could deeply relate with her need to find her sister and keep her safe.  It may be my familial instinct, but I would do the same for someone I love.

How many books are you shooting for in this series?? I’m almost finished writing the next book (the third) in the Nymph Series and am thinking I will need at least two more.  I like to leave this up to the needs of my story and my characters.

What are you currently working on? I’m currently working on wrapping up the next book to follow Montana Mustangs.

Do you have anything due to release soon?  Montana Mustangs will be released May 6th, 2013 and then the next book in the series should be released this Fall.

What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing? I love writing.  Recently I have been mentoring new authors and teaching classes for new authors.  It has been so much fun to share my passion for the written word with others.  About the actual act of writing, I like starting with a blank canvas and painting a picture with words.  Quite often I may have a plan ahead of time for the direction I want to move the story, but as my characters evolve I find the story changes to fit them and their personalities—which is also something which can drive me crazy!

Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover? I LOVE my cover.  I think the publisher went above and beyond with this book.  The background image is of Glacier National Park—which is close to where the book is set.
What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks? I like them both for different reasons.  I have long ago run out of space for any more paperbacks so I like that I can access all my books in one little device (and I don’t have to find more bookshelves).  However I’m a wee bit nostalgic and love walking into a book store and smelling the fresh scent of ink and paper.

Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try? I always consider writing romantic suspense, but I like paranormal.  My books are along the line of Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse Series in that they are centered in real life and have elements of the paranormal sprinkled in—some people call this “light paranormal”, so it wouldn’t be a great stretch to simple go all into everyday life, but I would miss the freedom that comes with imagination and mythical creatures.

Okay…. personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there… Hahah…

If you thought you were safe… Nah… Forgot it… Not a chance! We will start off slow and easy, I promise!

What is on your night stand/dresser? Floss (boring) and books… Lots of books… They are teetering, but I swear I will get through them all.

What are you listening to you right now? Oh Geez—I’m listening to kids bickering over snacks as they watch Max and Ruby on television.  Oh…I think I just saw a pretzel enter a nose. Sigh.

What are you reading right now? I’m reading short stories.  I love reading shorts when I’m working on writing.  They are single-sitting reads which is nice.

What is your favorite season? Holiday? I love the earthy scents and rich orange and red hues of the fall.  Between the season and my writing paranormal romance, it should come as no surprise that my favorite holiday is Halloween (plus, you get candy—how could it get any better?).

And what has been your best b-day present ever?? My husband bought me a Kindle Fire last year.  He has since regretted buying it as I’m always reading.  We lovingly call it ‘my boyfriend.’

Hard and Quick Time! Don’t think… Just answer! Okay, before we go this route, I will get us a refill on our drinks… I will be right back…

You know you do… Quickie time… Think fast….
Are you a quickie kind girl?
Yes
Dark or Milk Chocolate? Milk
Whipped or Melted? Whipped
Straight up or with a twist – sex? Twist
What’s ur fave drink – in a glass or on him? J Glass
Junk or Health Food? Chocolate
Ties or Chains? Ties
Leather or Lace? Leather
Soft or Hard… Bed, where was your mind? Hard
J
Control or Be Controlled? Control
Hot Wax or Whip Cream? Whip Cream
Vampire or Werewolf? Vamp
Twitter or facebook? Facebook
Pinterest..do you pin? Love it
J

Thank you so much for having me on your blog today. This was a fun interview!

In a world of shadows, a pure heart can be the most dangerous weapon of all.
Kara has been training for months to help take down Brakken—the merciless black-wing who is making life hell for the Demiáre. But when Julian discovers a scout has been tracking Kara, he wants her out of the fight—even if it means breaking her heart in the process.
Gavin isn’t much better. He’s already lost so much to Brakken and has no intention of allowing the woman he loves to be the next sacrifice. He and Julian have their hands full trying to fight Brakken’s army and keep Kara safe, especially after her recent visit to the mythical white-wings. Since her return, she’s been acting decidedly…strange.
With a terrible battle looming, Kara doesn’t have time to think about her conflicted feelings for Gavin and Julian—or the fact that she’s developed an unnatural taste for Gavin’s blood. But if she thought it was complicated evading mysterious scouts and fending off vicious black-wings, she’s learning that’s nothing compared to loving two strong-willed men.
Product Warnings:
This book contains angels that aren’t what they seem, a heroine with mad midwifery skills, and a metamorphosis that will change life as we knew it.

Kara dropped into a crouch behind the leaves of a giant bird of paradise as her claws silently pushed through the tips of her fingers. Her thigh muscles burned from the continued strain, but they could catch fire for all she cared. He wasn’t going to get her. Not this time.
When the sound of furtive footsteps approached, crunching softly through the thick, tropical undergrowth, Kara grabbed onto a low-lying branch and swung herself up, then quickly scaled the side of the tree. Her heart beat full-throttle, hammering so hard she hoped he couldn’t hear it. But if his hearing was that good, even the shallow breaths she took might give her away.
The buckskin-clad shape came closer. Head to toe, he wore a suit made of animal skin with a leaf pattern hand-drawn on the material. It was a hunting suit. But Kara didn’t feel like being hunted tonight.
She waited until he was directly under the tree where she hid. His chest and back were strapped with weapons that slowed him just enough to put him at a disadvantage. With a silent, decisive breath, Kara leapt.
Claws extended, she pounced on his back from above, flattening him to the ground under her, crushing a mass of fern fronds under his thick chest. She pulled a knife from his back strap and held it to his throat.
Smiling, she leaned down to whisper above his hooded ear, “Give up, big guy?” If it came out a little throaty and seductive, she couldn’t help it. Victory was a major turn-on. But then again, when it came to Gavin Cross, just breathing the same air was enough to get her hot and bothered.
He shifted under her, and his hulking body had no problem moving her with him. With her knees straddling his hips, she lifted up to allow him to roll onto his back.
“Lady Kara…” the man began, “you have need of me?”
Kara dropped the knife and jumped off, falling to one knee and clobbering a sprig of wild orchids in the clumsy maneuver. “Who the hell are you?”
“Patrick. You don’t remember me?” The warrior sat up and searched her eyes for a moment, but then his confusion cleared, as though he’d finally caught on to what was afoot. “Ah, you really don’t remember me, do you? You simply have need of a man. I don’t mind, my lady. I would be honored to service you.”
It still bothered Kara that his offer lit fuses all up and down her body. If she hadn’t grown up as a regular gal, she probably would have taken him up on his offer. Right here. Right now. Already, his substantial interest was growing.
She stood and brushed the debris from her black jeans. “I’m so sorry, Patrick. I really didn’t intend to…jump you. Lord Gavin and I are doing training exercises out here, and I thought you were him. You may want to hunt somewhere else until we’re finished.” When his brows rose, she added, “Finished training.”
Patrick stood, assessing her with a wry smile, then he retrieved his knife and returned it to its sheath. “Lord Gavin, you say? But he was the one who ordered the hunt.”
“He did what?” But just as she said it, something slammed into her from behind, carrying her blindingly fast through the maze of trees and vines until the blurred image of a clearing appeared.
In the next instant, she crashed into the tall grass face first and rolled onto her back—or was flipped, more like it. The hulking form above her blocked out the light of the moon with his massive silver wings. Her back pushed into the soggy soil, the moisture soaking through her shirt, and a root of some sort pressed against her ribs.
She glared up at Gavin, but with only an inch separating them, his hazel eyes were huge, eclipsing everything else in her vision, and his grin seemed to stretch as wide as his wings. “Gotcha.”
“What was that?” she demanded, but it was hard to yell at him with his lips so close to hers.
He brought a hand to her neck and ran his finger slowly across her throat. “If I had a knife, you’d be dead. I win again.”
Kara’s hands found his waist of their own volition. “No you don’t. You cheated. You sent a horny hunter into our training ground. I thought he was you!”
His breath was sweet and spicy, and the corners of his eyes crinkled with soft lines as he smiled. “Cheating is irrelevant when it comes to life and death, princess. Don’t expect integrity from those who want you dead.”
Her hands raked over the bare skin covering his ribs, until she curled her fingers into her palms to keep from touching him again. “Okay, that one doesn’t count.”
Gavin laughed and pulled her to her feet. “It counts. That’s three hundred sixteen for me and seven for you.”
“Shit,” she ground out. “Let’s try again.”
He reached out and adjusted her damp black T-shirt so that it lay smoothly against her chest. “You’re not ready, Kara.”
She batted his hand away. “So I can’t flash like a silver-wing. That doesn’t mean I’m defenseless.”
She’d killed his brother, who was incredibly strong for a silver-winged fallen angel—but she didn’t think there would ever be a right moment to throw that in Gavin’s face. Besides, he’d just tell her that his brother hadn’t been an almost invincible black-wing like the beast they were planning to bring down now.
“We’ve done enough for one night. Let me take you home. It must be almost three pm in San Diego, and you said you had to work tonight.”
Now that Kara was officially part of the Mercury Clan—a band of more than three hundred fallen angel hybrids—Gavin had finally confided that Mercury Island was located in the Seychelles chain of islands. Albeit, with all the wards and defenses, there wasn’t a good chance of a fisherman or passing cruise ship catching on to that fact.
Being halfway around the world from San Diego, it was almost twelve hours off from where she called home. Three pm in San Diego meant she’d kept Gavin up all night here on Mercury Island.
“Yeah, I do have to work. And you need to get some rest.”
He wrapped his arms around her, preparing to flash. “Have you thought about my offer?” As he asked, they began to dissolve. He carried her through the inky tar, and a moment later, they were standing on the balcony off her living room overlooking downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.
She let the nausea and the boneless feeling pass before she answered. “I can’t.”
He growled and released her. “No lady of the Mercury Clan needs to work. I have enough resources to keep you comfortable from now until the Armageddon. Did I ever mention that Teras’s daughter working at a bar for minimum wage and paltry tips is just plain absurd?”
“Only about a dozen times. Don’t you ever get tired of this subject, Daddy Warbucks? I know I do.”
“Your father was my king, Kara. How can I hold my head high when I’m not caring for his only daughter?”
Kara reached up—way up, given Gavin’s six-foot-seven-inch frame—and patted his cheek. The dark blond stubble along his jaw was just starting to poke through and it tickled her palm. “You’re so cute when you go all protect-and-provide on me, but I gotta get ready for work now. Bye.” When she wiggled her fingers in farewell and turned to enter the apartment, Gavin slapped her on the rump. She yelped and dashed into the living room.
“Brat!” he called after her, and then he flashed.
And with the sting his hand left on her ass, he was lucky he did.
She growled and swallowed down her body’s reaction to her golden-haired protector. Since her lover,
Julian, had called things off three weeks ago, bringing Kara’s sex life to a screeching halt, her starving body couldn’t handle even grappling or sparring with Gavin without her wanting to unstrap his weapons belt to unsheathe his broadsword.
She sat hard on the edge of the sofa and ran a hand over the side of her throbbing backside. What if she did quit her job? What if she took her place on the island as a lady of the clan? What would it be like to trade her boots and jeans for island wear and an ever-present supply of men eager to do her bidding?
As it was, she wondered how long could she pine for Julian, hoping he’d reconsider—and not just for the sake of her broken, humiliated heart, but also for how effective his attention was at helping her control her raging libido.
Truth was, females of Kara’s kind didn’t do well with abstinence once they’d reached her age. Hell, they didn’t even attempt it. And now more than ever Kara could see why.
She began to pull off her boots, but her face was angled toward the balcony window, pointing towards Mercury Island however many thousands of miles away. “Celibacy sucks!” she shouted.
But unfortunately, rolling around with Gavin Cross in a totally different exercise couldn’t happen until they’d accomplished their primary objective—sending that black-wing bastard Brakken to the Abyss before he got hold of Gavin’s only child.

Book Description:
Her lover is back from the dead…but now there’s hell to pay.
When Kara Reed learns her bondmate, Julian, is truly dead, and that Gavin has seemingly skipped town, she figures things have hit rock bottom. But soon, a string of bizarre accidents has her doubting those closest to her. And to make matters worse, the demon-king’s brand carved into her best friend Abbey’s stomach is deteriorating by the day.
Then a powerful coven of witches issues Kara an ultimatum. Bring them the blood of a true fallen angel—the only thing that will heal Abbey—or die. Kara would do anything to help her friend. Problem is, the only fallen angel she’s seen lately is the disoriented black-wing who attacked her scouts. One who looks suspiciously like Julian. Getting his blood might be easier if he was more interested in kissing her than killing her.
Caught between a coven of vengeful witches and a murderous dead lover, Kara must deliver the blood, heal the slow poison of Abbey’s brand, and save Julian from being consumed by the Abyss. But to do this, she may need the help of the one man she swore never to trust again…Gavin.
Product Warnings:
This book contains an angry demon returning from the dead, a clan lord hiding a terrible secret, and a hunted heroine cracking open a can of whoop-ass. Watch out for creepy kitties, exploding bad guys, and some very sudsy shower sex.

When the past flies in your face, clip its wings.
Slayer’s Kiss , The Shadow Slayers, Book 1
Kara Reed is a supernatural failure. But where her magic falls short, her fists get the job done. The criminal element doesn’t stand a chance once she hits San Diego’s dark streets.
When two smoking-hot tenants move in next door, she thinks her love life might finally be heating up. Just being near Gavin and Julian is enough to make her want to offer her body on a platter.
Gavin and Julian know it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes out. They’re fallen angels sent to watch over the king’s daughter, one of the last females of her kind. Trouble is, she doesn’t seem to think she needs watching—unless they’re watching her shimmy out of her clothes.
No matter how tempting her guardians, Kara’s not about to let anything stop her from tracking down a sadistic killer who carves into his victims and leaves them for dead. Even when she realizes her target may be the very scourge of heaven from which her angels swore to protect her…
Product Warnings:
Contains a kick-ass heroine with a foul mouth, a kind heart and a raging libido, and two fallen angel warriors who wouldn’t have her any other way. Watch out for sex in the clouds, a magical island of hedonism and a love triangle that gives new meaning to the term “hot-wings”.
