Ever curious, Elizabeth, Viscountess Rocksley, has turned her curiosity to erotic pleasure. Three years a widow, she boldly employs the madam of a brothel for guidance but never had she expected her education to be conducted by a coldly handsome peer of the realm.

To the Earl of Malvern, the erotic tutelage of a skittish widow is little more than sport, however the woman he teaches is far from the mouse he expects. With her sly humor and insistent joy, Elizabeth obliterates all his expectations and he, unwillingly fascinated, can’t prevent his fall. Each more intrigued than they are willing to admit, Elizabeth and Malvern embark upon a tutelage that will challenge them, change them, come to mean everything to them…until a heartbreaking betrayal threatens to tear them apart forever.

Hi Cassandra, Welcome to All I Want and More books

Tell us a little about your book?

Sure thing! TEACH ME is the tale of a widow curious about passion and the dissolute earl who teaches her. Slowly, they grow closer until distrust and fear tear them apart…

How much emotion does it take from you to write?

In order to tell the story, you have to put yourself in the place of the characters. When they cry, you cry. When they’re angry, you’re angry. When they’re joyous, you’re joyous. Hopefully, that comes through in TEACH ME!

What is your favorite part of the book?

The epilogue. It was the first scene that popped into my head and started the whole thing!

You can only pick 3 words to describe your main characters..what would they be?

Elizabeth – curious, joyful, cheeky. Malvern – remote, controlled, sensitive.

Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why?

Elizabeth and Malvern were both the easiest and the hardest. TEACH ME was actually the first full-length novel I completed and it was a real challenge and learning curve to make the characters fully fleshed and dynamic. However, it was also enormously rewarding when I finished the book and realised how much I loved those guys. Seriously, I think they’re my favourite of the characters I’ve created!

What are you currently working on?

The third in my Silk Series, SILK & SCARS, as well as a take on Sleeping Beauty for a new Decadent Publishing line.

Do you have anything due to release soon?

No, unfortunately. Real Life has intruded upon my writing schedule and I find myself a bit behind. However, things are starting to settle down and I hope to be back on track real soon.

What’s one thing that you enjoy about writing?

Hmm, how to narrow it to only one! I love getting the ideas in my head down on the page and then sharing those ideas with others.

Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of your cover?

I thought it was gorgeous. I’m so lucky with my covers, they’re all lovely.

What do you prefer ebooks or paperbacks?

This is kind of disloyal, but I must admit I prefer paperbacks. there’s nothing quite like the feeling of holding a book in your hands.

Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?

I really would like to try my hand at fantasy but the intricate worldbuilding necessary for such a thing is a little daunting. However, I’m determined to try!

Okay…. personal time!!!!

What is on your night stand/dresser?

Nothing too exciting, unfortunately. An alarm clock. An old red desk phone. That’s it!

What are you listening to right now?

I’ve just rediscovered a band I LOVED years ago called Machine Gun Fellatio. Yup, they were a bit risque. They broke up a while back but they had such fantastic songs. A real shame they’re no longer together.

What are you reading right now?

Just finished reading ( and re-reading!) The Undead Pool by Kim Harrison. It was super awesome. Can’t believe the last book in the series (The Hollows) will be here this year! Sad face and stuff.

 What is your favorite season?

Winter. Love the sound of rain outside with the heater on while snuggled under a blanket.

 Favorite holiday?

I went to Europe for three months a few years back and it was the best holiday. I can’t wait to return one day, hopefully in the near future.

And what has been your best b-day present ever?

My best birthday present was actually a surprise birthday party my friend threw for me! I had NO idea she had organised this, none whatsoever, and she’d organised it at a really low time in my life. It was a lovely, lovely thing for her to do and it still makes me smile to this day.

Hard and Quick Time!

Think fast….

Are you a quickie kind girl? Yep (quick answer, heh)

Dark or Milk Chocolate? Dark

Whipped or Melted? Melted

Straight up or with a twist – sex? Is that a drink? Is the twist one of lime??

What’s ur fave drink – in a glass or on him? I’ll take Gin & Tonic however I can get it!

Junk or Health Food? Love a bit of healthy stuff, especially fresh vegetables cooked to perfection.

Ties or Chains? Neither – willpower is the best, I reckon

Leather or Lace? Love lacy things. LOVE THEM.

Soft or Hard… Bed, where was your mind? I like a firm…mattress

Control or Be Controlled? Robots, right? We’re talking about robots?

Hot Wax or Whip Cream? Are these wrestler names?

Vampire or Werewolf? SUCH a vampire girl…Gosh, I’m kind of scared what that says about me…

Twitter and/or Facebook? Facebook – I’m too verbose for Twitter

Pinterest or not? Definitely fun times with Pintrest!

“I haven’t actually kissed that many men, so I was wondering if we could experiment. With kissing.” She looked at him, all that was expectant and eager. “What do you think?”

Malvern didn’t hasten to reply, much needed clarity arriving with her request. She wanted to kiss? Innocently kiss when he could instead pull down that thrice-damned bodice and encase her nipple with the wet heat of his mouth? Kissing was the appetizer to a meal, not the main course. But how was she to learn if he didn’t show her the error of her ways? “If you feel it will benefit your education, by all means, we should undertake it.”

Her brow creased, and he knew she wondered at his words. And then, she smiled.

Such a smile should not be so radiant. His heart, disturbingly, started to pound.

“Excellent.” She came toward him and, with little more than a soft touch, coaxed him to his feet. “So, how should we proceed?” Her gaze wandered to his mouth.

He ignored the rush in his ears. “Start, and if you require any instruction, I shall provide it.”

She nodded, her gaze still on his mouth. Her hand curled around the back of his neck and, lifting herself onto her toes, she touched her lips to his.

He restrained the shudder that threatened at her touch. Bloody hell, such a reaction was absurd. Slowly, she brushed her soft mouth against his, her lips parted, her breath whispering over him. His already laboring heart grew worse, setting his blood to thrum through his veins.

The response was incommensurate to such a pedestrian embrace. Remaining still, he fought to give lie to his reaction, to pretend she had not just reduced him to a green boy with nothing more than her lips upon his.

  2. Hi peeps,

Welcome to TEACH ME’s book tour! First off, thank you to Mary for having me on her blog and I hope you enjoy learning about me, TEACH ME and of course entering the giveaway.

Fun fact: I live in Australia so I might not be around much as I’m probably a) asleep or b) at work, but I will check in and answer your questions and comments.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the tour!

  3. I enjoyed reading your interview, especially the part where you say: “In order to tell the story, you have to put yourself in the place of the characters. When they cry, you cry. When they’re angry, you’re angry. When they’re joyous, you’re joyous.” OK, you admit putting yourself in the place of your characters so tell me, do you verbalize (out loud) the conversations of your characters, just to hear how the words flow?

    • Hi Karen,
Great question! I do sometimes read the dialogue out loud as it helps to ensure the flow is correct and picks up any weird errors that have been overlooked. Plus, it’s fun to read out loud in an accent, especially a British one 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Awesome interview!

Wait… Hot Wax, the wrestler, is helping the robots take control!?! Break out the ties AND chains 😉 LOL.

I love that Elizabeth got the Earl of Malvern ruffled with just kissing. Kissing is key.

Congrats on the release of TEACH ME, Cassandra.

Thanks for hosting the giveaway, Cecile. Fingers crossed to win.

    • Haha, nice one, Skeeter!
I must admit, I do love that scene, and how easily Elizabeth dismantles Malvern’s control. Always super cool when that happens 😉

  9. I love print books as well (of course I am running out of room for them…but I still prefer them over e-books!). Thanks for the giveaway and good luck on the release, it looks like a fun story!
