blurbLove is possible when the spirits move you.

Skinwalker Raven Walkingman is the number one cowboy, at the top of his game at the Darque and Knight rodeo. He has his animal spirit guides, good friends, and a fancy trailer. Raven prefers casual relationships, so when Rocket starts talking about mating as shifters do, Raven pulls up the stakes. He doesn’t need to fall for a ragtag cheetah.

Cat shifter Rocket is fast, but he only has so many lives left, and he spends more time injured than not. He’s the worst rider at Darque and Knight. Raven’s spirit guides adore him, though, and are more than happy to support him in his work and pursuit of Raven.

Raven and Rocket seem like an unlikely match, and sometimes it takes an otherworldly guide to make it right.

excerpt

Watching Rocket run on the little track at the now-defunct high school turned rodeo complex in… Crap. Kansas? Nebraska? Somewhere with corn. Watching that gave Raven a hell of an itch to scratch.

The little bastard was fast—no. Not fast. Breathtaking.

That speed glued Raven’s tongue to the roof of his mouth, and he wasn’t used to such an intense interest in a particular man.

Raven just needed to fuck Rocket into the mattress a few times. That would jostle this obsession out of him, get him back into his love-them-and-leave-them ways.

His dick told him he could do that right now, thanks.

Raven stared, fascinated by the way Rocket’s muscles moved, shifted, and rolled beneath the golden skin. He wanted to lick that flesh, wanted to rub against it. All of the spirits clamoring in his head agreed.

Rocket slowed, beginning to move alongside Blaine, the little bullfighter matching Rocket’s speed. The two of them were a pretty picture, and Raven gave up any pretense of working out, stopping to stare.

Denver chuckled softly, surprising him. “They can move, huh? All that work and they still want to run afterward. I just want a fucking beer.”

“No shit.” Raven did like Denver. A lot. “Pretty, though.”

“Both of them. You gonna play some?”

“Well, not with your Blaine.” He winked when Denver growled. “But yeah. I am.”

“Never heard anyone complain, honey.” Denver winked. “Of course, you and I never did get around to trying each other out.”

“And now you’re all taken.” He shook his head in mock sorrow. Denny and him, they would have ended up bruised and bloody and only done it once. Might have been worth it, though.

Denver’s smile was slow and wicked. “Pity for you, King Raven. I’d have made you beg for more.”

Blaine began to head over, the little wolf sensitive as all fuck. He could probably sense the vibrations of Denver’s cock or something. God knew the hot bastard was tossing off pheromones left and right.

“Mmm. No one has ever made me beg, Green.” He loved the kitty cavalcade nickname for Denver.

“No?” Denver grabbed him, squeezed him tight, and the embrace was fond and warm, only the slightest bit sexual. “Have fun tonight, man. Don’t break him. I sorta think Blaine’s fond.”

“I’ll only give him what he wants. I don’t do force.” Raven hugged back, smelling wolf scent and pot smoke and a deep sense of happiness in Denny.

So much more present than Dent had been.

The thought of the fallen bullfighter brought his wolf spirit to full focus, though, the need to comfort Denny instinctual. Losing a twin had to be like getting part of your soul torn out.

Denny looked at him, eyes knowing for a moment and the sudden wave of loss nearly knocked him off his feet, then Blaine touched Denver’s arm and it eased back to something reasonable, something bearable.

Raven released Denver, who turned and snagged Blaine, their strong bodies rubbing in the best way possible. “You done running with the cheetah, baby?” Denver asked.

“I am. Did you see him? He can’t maintain it long, but… shit, he doesn’t have to.”

“He’s quick,” Raven agreed. “Better runner than a bullrider, for sure.”

“Oh, shit. Rocket’s the world’s shittiest bullrider. Him and Ben Ursa should form a club.” Denver had more than a little evil in him.

Blaine chuckled. “Ben is good with horses. Rocket needs to find something to do with his running.”

“Yeah. Yeah, he does. Later.” Denny shot Blaine a look that was pure need. “Later.”

“Uh-huh.”

blurbLove and compassion, when least expected, helps the hopeless soar.

Gargoyle Killian has the unenviable job at Darque and Knight Rodeo of wrangling the sideshow acts. When he meets Micah, one of the freaks from a new troupe contracted to perform, he’s instantly drawn to the poor, pathetic creature. The more he learns about Micah’s situation with his reprehensible handler, the more determined he is to protect Micah.

Trapped painfully between two forms—man and snake—Micah knows nothing about his past except for what his handler tells him. The attentions of the gargoyle boost his mood, but what can Killian do to help him find the truth he seeks?

ARe

excerpt

Killian recognized the setup in an instant. It was a typical ten-in-one layout. An elevated walkway was constructed for marks to walk across, which overlooked “pits,” — curtained, sectioned off spaces on ground level where the freaks were exhibited.

“Hey, you! We’re closed. We don’t open until four. Get your ass out.”

The voice was rough and carried an edge of both arrogance and contempt, which made it clear the speaker thought highly of himself and was used to being obeyed without question. Its owner was an ogre, creatures known for their craggy faces and sour dispositions. Unlike most of his ilk, though, this one was less muscled and far fatter than other ogres with the show. His jowly cheeks sagged on his face, softening the coarseness in appearance his species were known for and almost melding with the deep rolls of fat on his neck. A ponderous belly strained the buttons on his frayed and faded black tuxedo jacket. He kept his sausage-like fingers hooked into the jacket’s lapels.

“Are you Emmet?”

“Yeah. Are you deaf?”

Killian bristled. Swallowing the anger summoned by the ogre’s disrespectful tone took what felt like a Herculean effort. That Emmet assumed at first glance Killian didn’t belong in the tent, that he was nothing but an insignificant mark, didn’t sit well with him. His ego was already bruised by his earlier conversation with Phillip; he felt the sting and the resulting need to hurt back was strong. “Listen, I’m here to—”

“I don’t give a sack of flying pig shit why you’re in here. Fucking brainless local yokels. Don’t you get it? Nobody gets a free show. You pay your money like every other fucking mark if you want to see my acts, and you do it after we open for business.”

“I’m not a mark! I’m—”

“Who are you, then? One of the rodeo roughnecks? Don’t you have a stake to pound or a pile of cow shit to shovel somewhere? Get the fuck out before I break you in half and feed you to the Snake Man.”

Killian felt his instant dislike for the ogre deepen into active loathing. That is the sound of an asshole speaking, he thought. His breath must reek of the shit he’s spewing. He tried to fight against his rising temper. A confrontation with a pissed off gargoyle rarely ended well, and he didn’t really want to explain to Phil and Cody why he’d murdered their newest hire. “I’d check my tone if I were you, jerk-off. Unless you want to find yourself and your acts booted out of the show, that is. I’m Killian, and I run the fucking sideshow.”

The ogre had the audacity to laugh at him. “Are you now? Well, I say you don’t run jack shit when it comes to me and my acts. I make the rules here, and you can fucking suck my dick if you don’t like it, little man.”

Little man? Seriously? He wants a pissing contest? Okay, then. No problem. Killian shifted into his gargoyle form, and noted with satisfaction the glitter of fear as it swiftly replaced the arrogance in the ogre’s expression. Damn skippy, you fucking overgrown troll doll. “Nobody fucks with my sideshow. This is how it works here, fuck face. You report to me, and I report directly to Darque and Knight. You got a problem with the chain of command, you’re free to voice your concerns with them. Of course, that might be hard to do after I rip your tongue out of your mouth and strangle you with it.”

“H-hey, now. No need for threats, friend.” Emmet held up his hands, palms facing outward, as if to ward off an impending attack. Not that anything short of a brick wall could stop Killian if he attacked while in his gargoyle form. His talons would shred the ogre as easily as a sushi chef could slice sashimi. “Just trying to protect my investments, is all. You understand, right?”

Typical of a bully, Killian thought. All bluster and no balls. “I want to see your acts. Now. Darque and Knight may have signed you on with the show, but I’m the one who decides whether you stay on.” Not really, but he figured Emmet-the-Asshole didn’t need to know that nugget of information.

“Sure, sure. I’ll send them into their pens. Give you the full show.” Emmet moved quickly for as such a hefty man, although the catwalk trembled under each of his steps. He disappeared behind a black curtain hung at the rear of the exhibit.

Killian swore softly under his breath. He’d only meant to wander around, observation without interaction and all that psychobabble crap. He had no intention of meeting the attractions face-to-face, but now he was stuck with a private viewing. He felt like a naughty little boy caught doing something he knew he shouldn’t. He felt anxious and guilty, and pissed off at himself for feeling that way.

I’m not doing anything wrong, he reminded himself. This is my job, right? I’m supposed to make sure the acts are legitimate. Except he hadn’t hired these acts — Darque and Knight had. He wasn’t responsible for them, Cody and Phil were.

Then why, he asked himself, do I feel like I am?

blurbBlaze offers Zack a home, but is love enough to keep him?

Psychic Blaze scouts locations for the rodeo company, Darque and Knight. While checking out a possible venue he finds another psychic talent, Zack, who’s hot as the Fourth of July.

Zack is complicated, though, thanks to his sidekick, Mikey, a damaged kid. Blaze invites the pair back to the rodeo, but not everyone is as happy as Blaze to have them there.

ARe

excerpt

Hello?” Blaze rapped on the door. “Come on. I know you’re in there.” He rolled his eyes at the silence that answered him. “Look, we can do this all afternoon, or you can just open the fucking door. I know what you are. I’m not here to hurt you.” Still nothing. “Oh, for… I really don’t want to break the door down. I bruise like an overripe peach.”

After another few moments, he heard the floor creak, and the lock on the door slide free.

The door swung inward, revealing a man who looked only slightly younger than himself, and a boy. The child looked no older than ten years. He was a slight thing, skinny, but his wide, liquid brown eyes glittered with fear and a spark of curiosity.

The man stepped in front of the boy as if to protect the child from Blaze. His green eyes were hard with suspicion, but that didn’t stop Blaze from noting his high cheekbones, and lean, hard body clad in a tight, worn t-shirt and denim, or the inky black hair that fell in a sleek sheet past his shoulders.

Blaze cleared his throat. “Look, I know you’re a supernatural. So am I. We’re on the same side. My name is Blaze.”

Supernatural? What’s that?” The man’s lips mashed into a thin, tense line.

Come on. Neither of us is stupid. You can sense it in me. I know you can.”

The man chewed on his lip, staring hard at Blaze for a moment, then seemed to come to a decision. He gave a short nod. “I’m Zack. The boy is Mikey. At least, that’s what I call him. I don’t know his real name. He doesn’t talk.”

Blaze glanced at the boy. Small for his age, almost scrawny. He had brown hair, huge, dark eyes, and milk-pale skin. Blaze spotted the faint markings of faded bruises on the child’s face. “Mind telling me how a supernatural came to be squatting in a farmhouse with a mundane kid?”

Zack reached behind him, as if to prove to himself Mikey was still there, and all right. “It’s not much of a story. I was in Kansas City, working for a supe who owned a pizza place. I made deliveries, helped clean, that sort of thing.”

Blaze nodded. “Go on.”

I had a delivery in a part of town that was pretty worn down. You know, tenements, some abandoned buildings, drug dealers, hookers on the corner, that sort of thing. I made the delivery in a building that was only one-step up from condemned. When I was walking down the hallway, I heard a kid screaming.”

Let me guess… you played hero and busted down the door to save him.”

Zack cocked his head and narrowed his eyes. “There was a child screaming bloody murder. You wouldn’t?”

Blaze tried to stare Zack down, but couldn’t. He rolled his eyes and tried to hedge instead. “Only someone stupid or with a death wish would do it.”

Zack’s lips tilted in a smirk. “Which one are you?”

Blaze snorted. “Never mind. So, what happened?”

The door was unlocked, so I opened it and went inside. There was a male mundane, big guy, six-foot easy, maybe two-twenty, two-thirty, and he’s wailing on this little kid. The kid is crying, and saying ‘no, please stop, please stop.’ What was I supposed to do? Walk away?”

Most supes would say yes.”

Yeah, well, not this one. I know what it’s like to be on the wrong end of a fist. I got the kid out.”

Blaze gave Zack the once-over. “You’re lean, and going up against a human weighing in at two-thirty? How did you manage that?”

I never had to touch him.” For the first time, Zack smiled, and the effect was devastating. His curved lips transformed his face from merely good-looking to truly gorgeous. Twin dimples winked at Blaze, and his green eyes flashed with humor. “I’m telekinetic. I picked that big bastard up and floated him right out of the window. Let him hover in the air until he fucking wet his pants, then put him up on the roof of the building next door. Took the kid and split. That was the last time I heard Mikey speak. I think maybe his throat was injured in the beating.”

Look, I understand you helping the kid and all, but isn’t that kidnapping?” The last thing Blaze needed was to get involved in a criminal activity which might bring the eyes of the police on the rodeo.

Zack shook his head. “No. When we got away, I gave him a pen and paper, asked him if that was his dad. He said no. Said the guy stole him from the orphanage.”

He’s an orphan?”

That’s what he says. Or writes. He doesn’t want to go back there. It’s not a nice place, I think. The other kids are bigger, and mean to him, and the nuns who ran it weren’t much better.”

Blaze sniffed. “Who is this kid? Oliver Twist?”

Zack glared at him. “Nobody is asking for your opinion or your permission.”

You’re right, you’re right. My apologies. You’re a good man for taking care of him.”

Zack seemed mollified. “Who are you, anyway?”

Like I said, my name is Blaze. Blaze Morgan. I’m the patch for the Darque and Knight Rodeo. Ever heard of us?” He looked back and forth between Zack and Mikey, noting the blank expressions on both faces. “We’re the only professional rodeo staffed by and performing for supernaturals. We travel the country every year performing in little towns just like this one. Gonna be setting up here in a few hours. Which brings me to my, er… little problem. You see, you’re squatting in what’s going to be the middle of our rodeo.”

We got no place else to go. And we were here first.” Zack’s expression grew hard again, the muscles in his arms bunching as his hands curled into fists. It was obvious he was gearing up for a fight.

Blaze held his hands out. The last thing he needed was a busted nose from some hayseed Supe squatter. “Whoa. Now, we don’t want any trouble. I understand. Really, I do. But the kid can’t stay here. He’s human. You can, since you’re a supe, but not him.”

If I stay, he stays, and no matter what you say, neither of us is going anywhere.”

Come on, Zack. Be reasonable. There’s going to be a whole shitload of supes pulling in here in the next few hours. If they see the kid, they’ll go apeshit.”

Then tell them to go somewhere else.”

Blaze shook his head. “I can’t. I’m not the one in charge.”

Then we’ll talk to the person who is.”

blurbThese two sexy shapeshifters are playing to win.

Wendy isn’t part of anyone’s pack, not anymore. As a cop, she can handle anything, even getting rid of her evil ex. Too bad local werewolf alpha Brett has different ideas. He doesn’t care if Wendy wants to be a lone wolf. He has to protect all the wolves in his town. Including her. Especially her.

Wendy finds Brett irritating, overbearing and sexy beyond belief. Brett thinks Wendy is trouble with a capital T and hotter than the dog days of summer. Butting heads can be fun, but there are other ways to rub against each other. Intimate, lusty ways.

ARe Amazon Kobo

excerpt

The sting when Brett, the big alpha of Boulder’s local packlands, popped her ass shocked Wendy down to the bone and she snarled, her inner wolf overcoming her inner cop in a fierce rush, everything in her reminding her that she wasn’t part of a pack. Any pack. The tiny burst of pain distracted her from the growing panic that she had been investigating the wrong perpetrators ever since the attack on Mike last night.
“You’re lucky I don’t have my sidearm on me, you fuck!” she snarled at Brett, teeth almost snapping at the air.
“I’m lucky? You probably would have drawn down on Stephanie here in the state you’re in if it wasn’t for me. I can fucking smell your panic.” Brett bared his teeth at her, growling, as if this was her fault.
“What’s going on?” Her best friend Stephanie was a sweetheart, a dear little wonder of witchiness, with her potions and rites and the constant scent of sage and rosemary. But some fights were for weres. Alone. And Steph wasn’t a werewolf.
“I don’t know, but she’s freaking out,” the big alpha said and casually shifted, moving halfway between her and Steph, separating them. That was a classic strategy, but she wasn’t a perp. She was here looking for evidence in Mike’s attack. Sweet, gentle EMT Mike, whose big crime had been taking Stephanie out on a date. Except that wasn’t the case, was it? This wasn’t about Stephanie. This was about Wendy and her past and the reason why she wasn’t part of a pack anymore.
“I am not freaking out!” Wendy caught herself yelling, that tiny bead of guilt growing since last night when she’d smelled something totally unexpected on Mike’s wound.
Not feral dogs, as the policeman in her had suspected. Not Stephanie’s jealous lovers, Shaw and Jordan, as the wolf in her had expected. No. She’d smelled the bastard who had been her worst nightmare, once upon a time.
“I don’t… Wendy? Honey?” Stephanie sounded so freaked out, stepping toward her.
“You just…” Wendy could feel panic creeping up inside her, and by the moon, that made her mad.
“Stop.” Brett barked, the command in the man’s voice undeniable, fierce.
Wendy rocked back on her heels and she fought the urge to howl. “I’m sorry.”
“Sorry for what?” Steph asked and came to her, hugged her tight, and damn, didn’t that make her feel worse? Wendy was the one who had accused Stephanie’s lovers of injuring Mike and now… “What’s wrong, honey? You can tell me.”
“I don’t know. I thought for sure I wouldn’t ever. This is all my fault.” Apologizing was hard. Wendy hated it.
“Nonsense.” Stephanie sounded so sure.
“No. He followed me here. I can smell him now. I thought at the hospital I could, but it was so medicinal. He—” Jack was here. Jack, her crazy ex, had found her again, after so many years.
“He who?” Brett asked, voice sharp, getting right in her face. God, he was a fine son of a bitch, even if he didn’t know squat about her.
“It’s not your problem!” Wendy snapped, the guilt about Jack following her here, endangering others, making everything worse.
“My packlands, my problem.” Brett’s chest bumped into hers and she was reminded, rather forcefully, that wolf pack alphas were used to getting exactly what they wanted, the information they needed. Now.
“Guys. Guys, careful.” Stephanie started flailing, her panicky voice scraping along Wendy’s nerves like nails down a chalkboard. Brett grabbed Stephanie by the upper arms, shifting her away with surprisingly gentle hands.
“You’re an asshole. The goddamn alphas always are. I really need to find a town without a goddamn pack.” Wendy poked Brett in the chest with one finger, acting way braver than she felt.
Brett’s nostrils flared, then the man’s eyes went bright yellow. “Who is attacking people in my town?”
The scent of angry male hit her dead on, but it wasn’t Brett. It was another. Not right. Rotten and in wolf form. Jack.
“Shit!” Brett whirled before she even had a chance to respond, shifting to his own wolf form in a breath, and Wendy knew she knew she couldn’t hold onto her humanity.
“Wendy?” Steph backed away. “Wendy, oh Goddess.”
Wendy looked at her dearest friend in the whole world. Her oh so human friend. “Go, Steph. Run. You’re just going to get hurt if you stay. I’ll call you.”
The change took her in a rush, the world turning gray as she hit the ground on her paws, her clothes falling away as she spun to fight the violent bastard who was trying to ruin her life.
Brett barked, encouraging her to flank Jack as he attacked from the front, going immediately for Jack’s throat. Jack was wickedly smart, though, and deflected the blow, chasing after Stephanie instead.
No. No way.
No way.
They both gave chase, paws digging into the asphalt as they headed out.
Run! Run!

Interview

Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Toni Griffin author of Determined Mate.

Hi Toni, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself, your background, and your current book.

I live in Darwin, the smallest of Australia’s capital cities. I hated english with a passion at school and found my strength lay with numbers.

Now, I love escaping to the worlds I create and hope to continue to do so for many years to come. I’m a single mother of one and I work full time at a Casino. When I’m not writing or spending time with my daughter you can just about guarantee that I’ll be reading one of the many MM authors I love.

Determined Mate is the second book in my Holland Brothers series, and stars Jason Matthews and Alex Holland. I’m here to celebrate its recent release in Audio.

How do you feel about e-books vs print books?

Personally I read more e-books than I do print these days. However, I don’t think there’s anything quite like seeing your very own story in print.

What process did you go through to get your first book published?

I was actually really lucky when I submitted my first book. I submitted the story online to a publisher at about midnight, I received an email the following morning letting me know they wanted to published the book. I had no idea what to expect with editing, covers, marketing and such, but you learn as you go.

How do you find or make time to write?

With great difficulty. I would absolutely love to be able to do this full time, but as a single mum with a mortgage I would need to have a great deal of savings behind me to even think of it. At the moment I have to trying an find time between working full time, spending time with my daughter and sleep. Some days I’m successful. Others not so much.

Name one person who you feel supported you outside of your family members?

Ever since I met her, Freddy MacKay has been nothing but supportive of my writing. That woman just pushed and pushed, because she knows exactly what I’m capable of. No matter what’s going on in my life, I know I can always turn to her for support.

Tell us about a book you’re reading now.

Well last night I actually finished reading the Ongoing Reformation of Mitchell Johnson by Sean Kennedy, another Aussie author. This book is set in the same world as Tigers and Devils. I love that series, I read it way back when it was originally released and have followed the original series this whole time. I can’t wait to read the next book in this new series.

Beast Denied 72lgTo embrace the future, they must defy the past.

Beasts of Bodmin Moor, Book 2

Naomi Flynn never intends to mate or marry. Either one would leave her open to the manipulation she’s sworn never to endure again. Besides, no panther male will want her once they know the truth behind what happened a decade ago.

She’s happy to burn up the sheets in a buddy-with-benefits arrangement, until a craving for a three-way sexual adventure thrusts her right back into the arms of the man she can’t afford to remember.

Tynan Galloway doesn’t intend to stand by and watch the woman he wants throw herself at every male with a pulse except him. Ten years ago, a brutal assault robbed him of his destiny as a protector of the pack, but damned if Naomi is going to be another casualty of his fate.

In the heat of a fantasy come true, Naomi’s resolve to keep her emotional distance weakens. But when Tynan discovers she’s in potential danger, he dares her to deny he’s the only man who can protect her. Never expecting she’ll go to extremes to prove him wrong…

Product Warnings

A hot panther shifter with something to prove, a heroine with a secret to keep, and a threesome arrangement which brings out the teeth and claws.

excerpt

Pushing through the jittery discomfort, Naomi moved until her back was to the men. She reached around to unhook her bra, then held the unfastened cups close to her chest. Turning back, with the men’s gazes focused on her still-covered breasts, she let the straps fall away. There was a sense of power, Naomi thought, in holding a man enthralled, or in this case, men. While it might have been better easing herself into this particular game more gradually, there was sometimes a lot to be said for simply plunging in at the deep end.

Reminding herself this was her choice, her fantasy, she let her hand fall away, and the bra fell to the floor.

Malcolm groaned, his prick bobbing again. Derek had barely moved, but his throat contracted as he swallowed.

Twisting around again, Naomi hooked her fingers into the sides of the wispy black panties and began to lower them down over her hips, the cool brush of air on her bared backside sending shivers along her sensitive flesh.

“Fuck. Get over here before I come just by looking at you.”

Malcolm, Naomi thought. The more gregarious of the two. Derek was far more intense, quietly watching her as the three of them had chatted in the bar, and now while she performed her striptease.

When she turned back, Derek was on his knees at the end of the bed. His eyes gleamed dangerously, and he grabbed her wrist, yanking her onto the mattress. She tumbled facedown, the breath knocked out of her.

Hands trailed over her naked flesh, sliding up her thighs, cupping her rear, stroking her back. Roughly, she was tossed onto her back, and she looked up into Derek’s menacing gaze. His cock pressed against her leg, while Malcolm cupped her pussy.

Oh shit. What was she doing? She didn’t know these men. Had no idea what sort of people they were apart from the fact they were down from London on business and, like her, were looking for a good time.

She was such an idiot. She needed her damned head examined.

Her strength was greater than that of human women, but when she tried to scramble up, Derek pressed her back with ease. “You’re not going anywhere until we get what you’ve been promising all evening.”

Malcolm laughed and pressed his finger inside her. “She’s up for it,” he said on another laugh. “Just likes to make it more exciting, don’t you, babe?”

He pushed deeper, making her flinch. “Like that, don’t you?”

“No. This was a mistake. I—”

Derek shoved Malcolm aside, then scrambled between Naomi’s legs, pushing them apart with his knees. She tried again to get up, but he pressed a hand to her shoulder, weighing her down. “Give me a damn condom.”

Malcolm tossed him the foil packet, and, keeping his gaze on hers, Derek ripped it open. His feral look pushed fresh fear into her stomach, and with every ounce of strength she possessed, she tried to scramble up. She couldn’t budge him.

Derek released his hold on her shoulder to slide on the rubber, but before she could take the chance to escape, Malcolm pinned down her arms.

Panic clutched at her throat, nausea churning her stomach. Oh God. This was so not how she’d thought it would be.

With his face a snarling mask of determination and sickening lust, Derek yanked up her hips.

“I… I’ve changed my mind.”

Her throat was so tight, she could barely enunciate, and it was evident he hadn’t heard her when he grabbed his cock and leaned over her.

“I said, no!” With sheer will, she directed every fiber of strength into her arms. Energy pulsed along her muscles, firing the nerve endings, and she sucked air into her tight lungs. Releasing her breath, she shoved upward, and Malcolm toppled back. Naomi had a glimpse of the shock lighting his face before she pushed at Derek’s shoulders. When he recoiled, she took advantage of the surprise factor and scrambled off the bed.

She almost made it to the bathroom, intent on getting her dress and hightailing it out of there, but Derek caught her around the waist.

Naomi lashed out, shoving her foot against his chest with such force that Derek went hurling into the air and across the room. He landed awkwardly against the walnut bureau, blood oozing from his cheek.

While Malcolm stood motionless by the bed, watching openmouthed, Derek wiped a hand across his face. He stared at the blood-smeared hand and staggered dazedly to his feet. Naomi didn’t hang around. She grabbed her dress from the bathroom and hurried into it. Snatching up her bag, she beat a hasty retreat.

She dashed out into the empty hallway and, with her dress half-zipped, fled down the hotel stairs. The lights in the reception area were dimmed for the night, but she focused on the revolving door ahead of her. When she pushed at it, nothing happened. She gave it another shove before realizing they were probably locked for security reasons. Glancing in the direction of the reception desk, she saw a young man hurrying toward her.

“Is everything okay?” His pale eyes were full of concern. “Can I help you with something?”

“Just let me out of here,” she said. “Please.”

He hesitated, and Naomi considered summoning that superhuman strength she’d found upstairs to get the doors open.

“What the hell’s going on?”

Her mind buzzed, her body still trembled, but through the mayhem of it all, she recognized the voice from behind her. She took a moment to center herself, to find a degree of balance, which bordered on impossible as memories slammed into her.

Tynan Galloway.

Naomi had spent the past decade well over a hundred miles away from him, and during the months she’d been back in Bodmin had managed to largely avoid him. Now he decided to show up at the lowest point in her existence. Well, not the lowest, but she wasn’t going there right then, and certainly not with him looming beside her.

She turned, her hands trembling around the strap of her bag, and met his piercing emerald gaze. It had haunted her for so long, the devastating hue of it. But now, facing it again, her heart trembled.

“I just need to leave.” She swallowed before addressing the young porter. “Can you please open the door?”

His concerned gaze slid over her short black dress as, she imagined, did Tynan’s. “Are you sure everything’s all right, miss?”

“Everything’s fine. I just—”

“Brandy,” Tynan said to the porter. “Double, I think.”

Before Naomi could object, the young man nodded and slipped away. Tynan took her arm and headed for a nearby chair. She tried to shake him off. She’d had quite enough of being manhandled for one bloody evening.

“I don’t want brandy. I just want to leave. I’ve had a crappy night.”

Still with his hand on her arm, he swung her half around so her back was to him. “Is that why your dress is unzipped?”

She took the inference. “It’s none of your business.”

“If you’re sleeping with a sleazebag who throws you out in the middle of the night before letting you get dressed, I’m making it my business.”

He zipped her dress, then plunked her down on the chair and pulled another one close so he could sit facing her. His knees bumped hers.

The contact shot a wave of longing through her. “All I want is to get out of here. And what are you doing skulking around hotel lobbies in the middle of the night? Doesn’t high-tech hacking keep you busy enough?”

“Yeah.” He frowned, effectively ignoring her barbed comment. “But there’s always room for more excitement.”

Seeing as she’d had more than enough excitement for one night, Naomi found it hard to agree.

The porter came back with brandy, hovering over her like a mother hen while she dutifully sipped at it. At Tynan’s nod, he moved away back to the reception desk and left them alone in the dimly lit hall.

“Want to tell me about it?”

She peered at him through narrowed eyes. “No.”

Tynan kept a steady focus on her, almost as if he could see right down to her very soul. She remembered that look. She hated it.

“Did he hurt you?”

He asked the question so quietly, so gently, her eyes filled and she turned away. She was coming down, all that adrenaline leveling out and leaving her raw, exposed. She’d felt that way once before with Tynan, a long time ago. She hated that too.

blurbSometimes the moon shines brighter than the stage.

Connor ‘CJ’ Lamont is at the top of his game playing the bad boy of country music. The problem with his ultimate redneck persona is that… well, he’s not. CJ is a wickedly smart songwriter and musician who suffers from an excess of personality. He lives, not for the spotlight, but for the three months of downtime each year when he can finally be himself.

Sexy werewolf Lee Mills is hired as CJ’s new security to keep him safe and assure that he stays on the medication he’s been on since birth. But when Connor’s parents see sparks fly between their son and his new security guard, they are intent on keeping the wolf at bay. Of course, Mills isn’t used to taking orders, at least not from anyone who isn’t his pack alpha, and he has no intention of following the rules.

In fact, if Mills has his way, he’ll be smashing the spotlight and showing Connor the moon.

excerpt

Connor did his market shopping—shrimp, rum cake, and root veggies and those neat little brown sugar candy deals—before heading out to the beach house. It sat there like a faded jewel, the turquoise paint beaten down by the sun. It was little, simple, nowhere a famous asshole would live.

Connor loved it.

All he had to do was eat and swim and lounge in the sun. Oh, he had his guitar and in a few days the itch to write would be on him. For now, though, he wanted fruit. Rum.

He dumped the food in the fridge, poured himself a piña colada and headed out to his chair to soak up some sunshine.

Connor stopped short when he saw the long, well-muscled man who was stretched out on a tiny air mattress across from his lounger. “Hope you got enough food for two people,” the guy said, sitting up and running a hand through a shock of dark brown hair.

“This is private property, dude. It’s posted.” Connor wasn’t stupid. He knew this was security man, but he wasn’t fucking at work.

“I know. Not a bad setup. I can work with it without losing any of your aesthetic.”

He turned without a word and went back inside, locking the door behind him. He could call the police, but that seemed less than fair. This guy was working, doing his job. He could give it a day or two, see if the guy gave up. He could find another place, maybe another beach.

Christ.

He just wanted a break.

The door opened seconds later. “Nathan gave me a key. Look, I’m not here to make your life shit. In fact, I’ve gone over all the scenarios and decided not to hire a team like they want me to. As far as anyone knows, I’m a buddy of yours down on vacay with you. Hence the beach get-up.”

Connor glanced at Mr. Security again, who looked like something out of the International Male catalog in a pair of soft linen pants and nothing else. His accent, though, that was pure Deep South.

“I didn’t hire you. Just go home, tell my mom I’m fine, and collect your paycheck, man. I won’t tell anyone.”

“Yeah, and if you got shot or messed up or something, I would never work again.” The guy stepped up into his personal space and thrust a hand at him. “Mills.”

He shook instinctively, then pulled away. Nathan wasn’t his buddy anymore. In fact, he hoped Nathan’s retirement sucked. Okay. Connor was going to his bedroom and then he was going to create a plan that didn’t involve having a babysitter.

He was a smart dog. He could do this.

Sinful Surrender, Book 1

MediaKit_BookCover_PsychicMenageSeriesblurbTop psychic spy Fay Avalon saw too much on her latest mind traveling mission and is now on the run from her post-catastrophic dystopian government, searching for the truth and proof. She escapes but is shot down, landing in the arms of the enemy.

In Drakker and Arlo’s world, women are so rare the men have accepted a polyandrous lifestyle. When the brothers stumble upon Fay unconscious in the wreckage of an aircraft, they are immediately attracted to her. Arlo wants to keep her, but Drakker knows they can’t. They must take her to their brother Logan Abán, leader of their people.

Logan struggles with trusting anyone, even himself. When a beautiful, intelligent, and intriguing woman falls into their laps, his denied desires for intimacy challenge his need to trust the spy. He’s frustrated by romantic Arlo’s claims of her innocence. Even when pragmatic and dominating Drakker defends her as well, Logan refuses to trust his gut.

Can one woman satisfy the diverse desires of three men? Will Logan’s fears be realized by betrayal? Is Fay to be sentenced to death as a spy, suffer a fate worse than death by being returned to her government as a traitor, or will she find a new life and love as the wife of three sexy brothers?

excerptLogan gave a thumbs-up then said to Fay, “When I want to get things done fast, I’ll have to remember to get you jealous.”

What are you talking about?”

Somehow you managed to get results none of us could. We’ve been stuck here for what seems like forever. Every day we asked to leave and got rejected for one reason or another. Then your sweet violet eyes turn green with envy because of the attention I gave that young woman, and the next thing I know, we’re out of here.”

I wasn’t jealous. And she wasn’t a woman. She was a girl.”

She was a woman and very familiar with the ways of men.”

She was a tart and tease.”

Darlin’, I hate to inform you, but the little lady was no tease. She was as hungry as a mountain lion, and I was going to be her main course until you stepped in.”

Really? Well, I’m sorry I interrupted.”

No you aren’t.” Logan smirked. “You were jealous.”

I was not!”

Come on, admit it. You’re not as indifferent to me as you claim, are you?”

What?” Fay groaned with her attempt to turn around to see his face, but found it impossible harnessed the way she was.

Chandra finished getting Arlo strapped in and shouted, “Are you two finished scraping?” She motioned for Logan to push the red button. “Let’s go!”

As he reached for his button, Chandra’s sail filled with wind, and off she flew across the dirt with them in her wake.

I’ll have you know,” Fay hollered so he could hear her above the wind rushing past their ears, “I don’t care if the girl was flirting with you or not.”

Really? Then why did you force your way between us and shoo her out? I think you like me. Might even adore me.”

Abhor you, did you say? Yes, you might be right.”

I said adore. And you do. You just don’t know it yet.”

excerpt

Jessup Hart Blackwell ate my brain every night. He also ate my spleen, my liver, and my kidneys. Basically, anything he could get to, he ate. My tongue was his favorite. He said liars’ tongues were the best.

The leather straps with the weird symbols on them held me down—and quite frankly chaffed the heck out of me—while he cut and ripped away at every bit of skin, muscle, and cell I had.

All but one.

My heart.

He said it was because I didn’t have one.

For years this happened until I finally told my mom who took me to the doctor who in turn gave me some medicine to induce a dreamless sleep and offered the alternative of placing me in a mental hospital if I didn’t want to take it.

I chose medicine.

The nightmares stopped.

Until a week ago when I started my freshman year at the University of Tennessee at Crimson Ridge campus.

Last night, Hart brought a friend.
