Interview and #Giveaway: Love Under Two Outcasts by Cara Covington @GoddessFish

Cover_LoveUnderTwoOutcastsblurbCharlotta Carmichael is mostly not ashamed of the way she paid for her college degree. Mostly. As an exotic dancer at a gentlemen’s club, she earned enough to get her degree in psychology.

But sometimes the scorn she’s suffered in the past comes back to haunt her. She fears a similar reaction from Jesse and Barry Benedict. Will they still think she’s good enough for them if she tells them the truth?

Jesse and Barry know all about past mistakes and regret. Feeling like outcasts, they left their Montana home and headed to Lusty, hoping to make a new start. Once they understand that Charlotta is their soul mate, they confess their sins of the past—because they want their relationship to have a solid foundation.

As Jesse and Barry rush to save Charlotta from a stalker, they all soon learn that moving on is easier said than done—and requires a bigger leap of faith than they’d ever imagined.

Welcome to All I Want and More Books. We’re glad to have you here.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m Cara Covington – and I’m also Morgan Ashbury. I have more than 40 titles published with Siren Publishing and I am fortunate enough to be one of their exclusive authors. I write erotic romance, mostly ménage. As Cara, I have authored a long running series, the Lusty Texas Collection. Love Under Two Outcasts was released in December.

In this book, who was your favorite character to write and why?

I really loved my heroine, Charlotta Carmichael. She’s a woman who’s always appeared so self-assured and secure. She decided she wanted to be a psychologist but didn’t want the massive debt that went along with the education. So she chose to dance in a gentlemen’s club in order to earn her tuition. Now, in her first year of practice, she’s happy to be where she is, but…because of the reaction of her father to how she paid for that degree, she struggles with a little bit of self loathing. She also had an engagement that ended when her fiancé couldn’t handle that she’d  been a dancer. So, a woman of strength, but one with vulnerabilities. My kind of heroine.

What 3 words would you use to describe your main characters?

Caring, empathetic, and passionate.

Can you tell us a little bit about this book? Maybe a little snippet?

This is a small snippet (557 words) that takes place on the day that the heroes and heroine meet:

Charlotta felt daring indeed as she entered Lucy’s with the two hot and hunky Montana cowboys. Country music radio was piped through the place, and the after-work crowd had begun to arrive.

As soon as they entered the bar, Jesse took her hand and led her toward the back and one of the circular booths. Once they’d settled she realized they’d put her in the middle between them.

Talk about feeling daring.

She ordered a margarita and the men each asked for a beer.

The waitress was prompt, bringing their drinks and a complimentary platter of chips and salsa. Jesse was just as prompt paying the tab.

“I have to say Shiner is one of the things I like best about Texas so far,” Jesse said. “Well, aside from present company, that is.”

Charlotta’s sense of humor—what others sometimes uncharitably called sarcasm—emerged, and she opened her mouth without thinking. “Wow, there are so many great things about my home state. I’m honored you put me right up there, immediately after the beer.”

Jesse and Barry both chuckled. Then Barry took on as phony a Texas drawl as she’d ever heard. “Well now, Miss Charlotta, in all fairness, we’ve had the Shiner a few times already. You, on the other hand…” He let his sentence drop. But the way he raised his eyebrows twice in quick succession, assured her that he was teasing.

“And it’s going to stay that way today, gentlemen, because I don’t on the first date.”

“Is this a date, Charlotta?” Jesse reached for her right hand, while Barry took up her left. Both men rubbed their thumbs over the backs of her hands, their movements oddly in sync.

Charlotta felt again that fluttering excitement she’d experienced the first time they’d shaken hands.

“I think that maybe it is.”

“That’s what we were hoping you’d say.” Barry brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. Then he released her, but kept his gaze locked with hers.

“Your friend who lives in Divine. Is she…married?”

Charlotte turned to look at Jesse. She kept her voice low when she answered him. “Yes, to two men, Quinten Parks and Ben Lawrence.”

“Our sister Veronica has two husbands, and our brothers share a wife. See? It really is a small world.” Jesse matched his tone to hers, letting her know he respected her boundaries.

“They’re all married…but I don’t know if I’m looking for that. To be honest with you, I don’t know what I’m looking for. I worked long and hard to get where I am, to be able to do the kind of work I’m doing.”

“It takes dedication to become a psychologist, we both know that,” Barry said. “Dedication and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others.”

“Don’t paint me as a saint, gentlemen. I’m far from saintly, believe me.”

“We all have our flaws, and our regrets,” Jesse said. “We just want you to know that we respect that part of you that is a professional career woman.”

“We haven’t been wife hunting any more than you’ve been husband hunting.” The expression in Barry’s eyes, serious bordering on somber, let her know he was being totally candid with her. “But you have to admit there was a definite buzz when we met, and that buzz is getting stronger.”

How do you go about picking character names? Do you have to get them just right and make sure they fit with the characters personality?

For the most part, they just come to me. I might even say, they introduce themselves to me. I generally know if I’ve rushed the process, because before I’ve written too many words I have to stop.

We’re cover hussies..What was your first impression of this cover?

I loved the cover for Love Under Two Outcasts. It was my first cover my the amazingly talented Ms. Harris Channing.

What does writing mean to you?

Being a writer isn’t what I do, it’s who I am. It means breathing. If I can’t write, I’m not fully alive. I knew that years ago, even before I had ever gotten published. If I were still unpublished today, I might not be writing the Lusty, Texas series, but I would be writing.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

Every story has a theme. In Outcasts, that theme is redemption. But every one of my Lusty Texas books deals with real life challenges. And what I always hope is that, if only in a small way, my book touches the reader.

If you had a technology free day, what would you do?

Ack! I probably would read, and then nap, and then read…well, I’d do housework too, but you get the idea. Come to think of it, I really love my bed so I might sleep more than I read.

What are you currently working on?

Currently I am working on Love Under Two Extroverts, which will be the 26th novel in the Lusty, Texas universe.

Quickie Time

Sexiest feature on a man?

His eyes. The first thing I notice on any man. Eyes are sexy as hell.

Boxers, Briefs or Commando?

Boxers. They give a hint, but no more than that.

What is on your night stand/dresser?

I have a shelf rack on the back of the bedroom door because there is no room on my side of the bed for my bedside table. (It’s a running joke between my husband and myself and he finally put a shelf where I could reach things from bed on the back of the door.) Sorry, that wasn’t quick. There I have water, a box of tissues, and my cell phone.

Hairy chests or smooth?

Hairy – it’s more natural.

Cowboy or businessman?

I like a man who can be both.

Tattoos or piercings?

Either/or as long as it isn’t extreme.

Secret talent?

Mine? I have none. What I’d love for a man to have? The talent to cradle and sing an infant to sleep.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Games on my computer. They’re brain exercises – that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Celebrity crush?

Luke Bryan!

Night owl or early bird?

I seem to fluctuate. Right now, early bird.

Twitter or Facebook?

Facebook. It allows for more interaction.

Pinterest or Instagram?

Pinterest, which I have, as Morgan Ashbury.

ebooks or paperbacks?

Either/or. There is something good about holding a book in your hands. You can more easily flip back to your favorite passage to read over and over again.

Is there anything else you like to add?

I never could have dreamed this wonderful career I’m having. Here I am, at a point in my life when I had to quit working after triple by-pass surgery, to now be living my one and only dream…it is the best thing, ever! I am so very grateful to all of my loyal readers for making it so.divider3

Once she reached her open office door, she stood back inviting the men to enter first. She’d originally planned for them to have their meeting in the more comfortable seating area comprised of a love seat and two chairs around a small table located against one wall. She reconsidered now.

Charlotta freely admitted to herself that the only thing that made her stick to her original plan was her own stubborn pride. It wasn’t Jesse and Barry Benedict’s fault that she seemed to be having an extremely physical reaction to them.

You are such a liar. That’s not the only reason. You want to sit as close to them as possible.

Charlotta hated that her inner voice was such a nag—and that it was almost always right. As the gentlemen made themselves comfortable on the love seat, she mentally sighed. She did want to sit as close to them as decently possible. She had never had this kind of a reaction before. It had been several months since she’d felt any kind of sensual stirrings, period. What was wrong with being open, at least a little, to the possibilities? These men were going to be volunteers in a program she helped oversee, not clients. In short, there was no moral reason she couldn’t…what?

You want to jump their bones.

She told her inner voice to shut the hell up. Who asked you anyway?

bioMorgan Ashbury, also writing as Cara Covington, has been a writer since she was first able to AuthorPic_Love Under Two Outcastspick up a pen. In the beginning it was a hobby, a way to create a world of her own, and who could resist the allure of that? Then as she grew and matured, life got in the way, as life often does. She got married and had three children, and worked in the field of accounting, for that was the practical thing to do and the children did need to be fed. And all the time she was being practical, she would squirrel herself away on quiet Sunday afternoons, and write.

Most children are raised knowing the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. Morgan’s children also learned the Paper Rule: thou shalt not throw out any paper that has thy mother’s words upon it.

Believing in tradition, Morgan ensured that her children’s children learned this rule, too.

Life threw Morgan a curve when, in 2002, she underwent emergency triple bypass surgery. Second chances are to be cherished, and with the encouragement and support of her husband, Morgan decided to use hers to do what she’d always dreamed of doing—writing full time.

Morgan has always loved writing romance. It is the one genre that can incorporate every other genre within its pulsating heart. Romance showcases all that humankind can aspire to be. And, she admits, she’s a sucker for a happy ending.

Morgan’s favorite hobbies are reading, cooking, and traveling—though she would rather you didn’t mention that last one to her husband. She has too much fun teasing him about having become a “Traveling Fool” of late.

Morgan lives in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, with a mysterious cat, an eight pound Morkie dog who thinks he’s a German shepherd, and her husband of forty-two years, David.

Welcome to All I Want and More. We’re glad to have you here.

Thanks for having me on the blog today!

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I live every writer’s dream, I write full-time. I’m married with two kids and three dogs. We live in Virginia and love to go “camping” in our fifth-wheel camper. Buying it was the best idea we ever had – we get to bring the hellhounds with us wherever we go!

In this book, who was your favorite character to write and why?

I loved writing Jon’s character. He had a lot of heavy stuff thrown at him and he had some growing to do. It was a good story for him to feel comfortable with where he’s going and why.

What 3 words would you use to describe your main characters?

Intense, passionate, and deadly.

Can you tell us a little bit about this book? Maybe a little snippet?

This story takes place in Buenos Aires, and while I have yet to visit there myself, I can vouch by the numerous books and videos I’ve watched that it looks like an incredible place to live. In this installment we have three people desperate to protect all they hold dear, and yet they are drawn into finding a killer despite their best intentions. I introduce many more aspects to the previous world and new species, too.  Magic, mayhem, and madness, all for your reading pleasure. (I’ve included the entire first chapter for you to share, if you’d like).

How do you go about picking character names? Do you have to get them just right and make sure they fit with the characters personality?

I like to use real names. I’m not a big fan of the names I can’t pronounce when I read, but that’s just me. I use facebook for most all of the names in my books. I’ll do a shout out on my author Page or in my street team for name suggestions. When one is picked I will thank the person in the contributor’s section of the published book. It’s one of my favorite ways to get readers involved in the creative process.

We’re cover hussies. What was your first impression of this cover?

I was in awe. I loved the dress and the background images, especially the city in the water. Atlantis comes into play in this book, and I felt the cover artist did a phenomenal job in capturing the feel I was looking for.

What does writing mean to you?

Interesting question! To me, it means sharing my stories with the world. If I wasn’t writing, I’d still tell stories, I just wouldn’t write them down. And that would be a shame.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

I hope they enjoyed the escape immersing yourself in a good story can provide. My books may not have a deep underlying message to them, but you do feel like you know the characters and have journeyed with them while you’re reading the pages.

If you had a technology free day, what would you do?

I have them often! We travel to places all the time with no Internet when we vacation. I relax, read a book, cook with my family, play card, dice, and board games with them, and love to go hiking with my husband and dogs.

What are you currently working on?

I’m working on plotting out my next books, proposals for series to send to my agent, and reminding myself to exercise everyday, whether I want to or not.

Quickie Time

Sexiest feature on a man? Eyes

Boxers, Briefs or Commando? I love those boxer-brief combos. Tight and yet modest at the same time. 😉

What is on your night stand/dresser? Three battery operated candles, a bottle of water, an alarm clock, lamp, and whatever book I’m reading at the time (usually that means my kindle).

Hairy chests or smooth? I like both! Smooth is pretty, but I don’t want a boy in my bed. Hair is nice as long as they aren’t covered, like on their back. I really don’t care for hairy backs.

Cowboy or businessman? Same thing, I like both. Good-looking men in all shapes and sizes. Yum. I don’t discriminate. 😉

Tattoos or piercings? Ink is sexier. Piercings make me want to grab it and tear. I can be a bitch.

Secret talent? Secret? Geez… I dunno. I’m pretty open online and can’t think of anything that’s a talent and a secret. Except for the bedroom stuff, and I promised not to talk about that. 😉

What’s your guilty pleasure?  Guilt is a wasted emotion! I love so many things and indulge often. Life is too short for anything else. I enjoy good dark chocolate, like Godiva, but won’t turn my nose up to Hershey’s Special Dark, either.

Celebrity crush? My husband calls her my girlfriend, Sophia Vergara. I’ve never hinted I want to be with a woman, but I think she’s stunning and I want to be her. Now that she’s engaged to Joe Manganiello I get to stare at both of them.

Night owl or early bird? Night owl.

Twitter or Facebook? Facebook, baby!

Pinterest or Instagram? Neither.

ebooks or paperbacks? eBooks!

Is there anything else you like to add?

Thanks for having me! I’m hosting a book reviewer’s giveaway. Here is the link:

As C.J. mentioned above she is also hosting a giveaway on her Facebook page for anyone who posts a review of Blood Legacy during the first two weeks of its release (February 25 to March 11)

excerptMy voice deepens, taking on a husky tone. “It’s not like I want him the way I want you. He’s not the one I dream of every time I close my eyes. It’s not his love, his very essence of life, that brought me back from the edge of insanity and darkness,” I say, referring to the moment I nearly died and Rafe’s devotion and love saved me.

“Okay, you’ve made your point. I’ll play nice with the werewolf. Any hint or rumor he may have found a mate during last month’s big game hunting fiasco with all the werewolves?”

I shrug, realize he can’t see my movement, and say, “I’m not sure.”

“What? How can that be? How could you not be sure of what your vampire servant is doing at any given time?”

“You know I gave him distance when we left—and I don’t mean physically, I mean with our mental connection. He’s still there, in the back of my mind. But I’ve given him privacy, not wanting to intrude when he has the chance to be free of my influence for once.”

“Is that the best course of action when you claim to ‘need him’ now?”

“I’ll allow the connection to strengthen when he journeys here, but I want to keep some mental distance in place for him. He needs it. His uncontrollable obsessive desires were overcoming his waking thoughts, he needed the break to heal and find himself again.”

“All right, enough about the poor lost puppy. When did you say he’ll arrive?”

“Tuesday night. We’ll meet him at the airport in the city. How is the house hunting coming along?”

I hear the happiness in his voice. “I’ve found several suitable accommodations,” he says. “You’ll like them, I’m sure.”

A rush of images floods my mind. Stately residences in the posh neighborhoods near the heart of the city, rooms with high ceilings and ornate moldings, and hearths with big roaring fires.

“Good. I miss you, my darling. It’s only been two weeks and I still think it’s too long.”

“You’re just hungry for my blood, aren’t you?”

“Among other things…”

A gentle tingle of sensation indicates my husband’s mind reaching out to mine. And I miss you too, liebling. We’ll be together soon. Not to worry.

Hi Lane. Welcome to All I Want and More. We’re glad to have you here.

Thank you so much for inviting me!

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a hopeless romantic and a bibliophile. I love any and all love stories. It is truly a huge honor to be writing MM romance novels. I have a gay son and was inspired by the lack of authors in the genre when I first started to give my passion a try. I love the message of hope in a well-written romance.

In this book, who was your favorite character to write and why?

Brandon was a joy and a pleasure to write. He spoke so easily to me. He’s fun, gregarious and extraordinarily strong. He knows who he is and takes no BS. If anything, I wish I were more like him!

What 3 words would you use to describe your main characters?

Brandon- confident, fighter, fabulous

Jake- kind, smart, compassionate

Can you tell us a little bit about this book? Maybe a little snippet?

The Wrong Man is a story about confronting your fears and accepting that preconceived notions might be the very thing that holds us back from finding true happiness.

Tiny snippet from The Wrong Man coming right up:

He was on fire. There was a reckless, wild-eyed look about him as though his control worn thin. He bent to lick my lips again and again in a teasing manner until I went wild. I yanked him by the hair sucking on his tongue and raking my fingers down his back as I fought to get closer still. There was no way to get the friction we craved in the confines of the truck. Jake traced the shell of my ear with the tip of his tongue.

“Invite me inside, Bran,” he growled. His eyes were full of heat and desire. I couldn’t remember a man ever looking at me quite so passionately before. It was intoxicating.

How do you go about picking character names? Do you have to get them just right and make sure they fit with the characters personality?

I like strong, masculine names. Honestly, there’s no science to it. The name has to fit the character, but I don’t belabor the point. Maybe it will become more of an issue for me as my backlog grows. Lol!

We’re cover hussies..What was your first impression of this cover?

OMG! I LOVE this cover!! Aaron Anderson is a genius. The colors and proportion with the perfect amount of sex appeal. He truly outdid himself this time!

What does writing mean to you?

Writing means freedom. Freedom to create and express yourself through fictional characters with real life problems and personality quirks. Writing is also the best form of therapy! It helps me process conflict and make sense of things I can’t always control in real life. The written word is a powerful tool. I’m grateful to spend time doing something I love.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

My favorite stories leave me with a huge smile on my face and the voracious craving to read more of that author. I love beautifully written, somewhat flawed characters who I find relatable on some level. I want to root for them and cheer them on when they finally realize they have found someone extraordinary to spend their lives with. I hope my readers feel that way about my books. And I’ll add if I really love a book, I will literally order an authors entire backlog in one sitting. Lol! Again, I hope to inspire the same!

If you had a technology free day, what would you do?

Too easy! Read. All day. Preferably at the beach.

What are you currently working on?

My current WIP is book #4 in the Better Than Stories. By the time you read this, it will be with Dreamspinner Press! *fingers crossed*

Quickie Time

Night owl or early bird? Early bird

Is there anything else you like to add?

People have been asking, so yes I will confirm there is a Book 3 in the Right and Wrong Series and of course, it belongs to Alex. He deserves his own story! 🙂

excerptAgain, I questioned my sanity. Something was odd in my world for sure. My heart was beating double time when he finally turned onto my street. A quick escape was my best bet. I had my fingers wrapped around the car door handle and was ready to rip my

other hand from his grasp when he slowed down. He must have sensed my intent to bolt, because he held on to me until I was forced to give him a “what the fuck?” look.

“Let me walk you to your door.”

“Jake, let’s not do this. Please. I really don’t want this evening to get any weirder than it already has been. Thank you for tonight. For dinner and pretending to—”

“Hey, nothing is weird here. It’s dark, and I’m walking you to your door—”

“I’m a big boy. I’ve got this.” I detached my hand from his grip and opened the door.

“Thanks again.”

When I reached the sidewalk, he was waiting for me. The man obviously was hard of hearing.

“You are stubborn.” I gave him my best evil eye before I trudged up the path ahead of him.

“Me? You’re the difficult one. I’m trying to be nice—”

“You don’t have to prove you’re nice to me. I get it. That doesn’t mean—suit yourself.”

“Humor me.”

I fished my key from my pocket as I approached the well-lit front porch.

“Here I am, safe and sound. No need for worry,” I said flippantly as I turned to Jake.

“You ca—”

I swallowed my words. He was closer than I expected. Much closer. I felt the warmth from his body but wasn’t prepared for the hunger I saw in his eyes. I licked my bottom lip nervously. I knew what was going to happen, and though I wasn’t sure it was a good idea, I wasn’t going to stop him. He bent slightly and brushed his nose against mine. I felt his breath on my lips as I waited for him to close the distance between us. Neither of us moved. He smelled delicious, that intoxicating combination of soap and a hint of musky cologne I’d noticed the morning he hugged me in my kitchen. I could have happily buried my nose in his shirt or in the curve where his neck met his shoulders. I closed my eyes and leaned in the tiniest bit closer, expecting him to take over. He still didn’t move.

“Aren’t you going to ki—”

And then he pounced. He crashed his mouth over mine and snaked his arms around my waist, fusing our bodies together. His hands traveled up and down my back while he licked a sensual line across the seam of my lips, requesting entry. I heard myself moan as his tongue danced and collided with mine in a lustful assault. I arched into him instinctively. Jake lowered his hands to my ass, drawing me in tightly as he thrust his hips forward. The friction was hot, and his demanding kisses had my head reeling. This was nothing like our frantic make-out sessions years ago.

Just as that errant thought surfaced to remind me whom I was grinding against like a teenager on my front porch, Jake turned his full attention to my mouth. I was painfully hard, but he was right. We shouldn’t be doing any of this. But I couldn’t seem to stop myself. I bit at his jaw and then licked my way to his ear, flicking the lobe gently with my tongue until I felt his teeth at my neck. I made a strangled sound and went limp in his arms. He was overpowering in a subtle, almost unexpected way. I was two seconds away from ripping his shirt when a car went down my street blaring hip-hop music at an obscene volume. I pulled away and rested my forehead against his shoulder. We stood quietly catching our breath for a moment.

Then Jake pressed a soft kiss on my cheek and stepped away. “Good night, Bran. Thank you for… well, just thank you. I’ll see you soon.”

I stared after him like an idiot, watching him open his door and start the SUV. I heard the familiar hum of distant traffic and smelled the fragrant sweet star jasmine from my neighbor’s garden. Everything looked and seemed to be in place, but something was different.

(I always wanted to start a bio like that!) But seriously—scrap that, I’m not serious, but I do love to write. Create characters. Give them hope that there is something better around the corner. It’s my passion. I live and breathe stories. When I’m not arguing with the characters in my head (yes, I do that, you can ask my hubby who thinks I’m nuts btw), I’m taking care of said hubby, my two kids and a melee of furbabies. I’m Okie born and bred and, yes, we get a lot of twisters and, no, there aren’t any teepees around that I’ve seen.

In this book, who was your favorite character to write and why?

In FUEL, it would have to be the heroine, Cassie. She is wild, crazy and doesn’t give a flip about what people think. She’s all about being in the moment. Living life to the fullest and grabbing hold with both hands. She missed a lot in life and she doesn’t intend to miss another moment.

What 3 words would you use to describe your main characters?

Cassie — feisty, carefree, spontaneous

Thrand — content, focused, loyal (the first two before Cassie slammed back into his life…after? You’ll have to read it to find out)

Can you tell us a little bit about this book?

‘DirtSlap Series’

“Is there any line she won’t cross?”

Cassie Dalton escapes her narrow-minded hometown and will do whatever it takes to make a life for herself—on her own terms. Getting stranded in Nashville on her twenty-first birthday is fine…running into the one man she never thought she’d see again is mind-blowing. She doesn’t want, or need, a hero, but he opens her heart to feelings she’d stopped believing in. She’s always loved him, but is he worth risking her heart?

Thrand Medlam is content with his life as a studio drummer, until Cassie slams into his world at full throttle. Grown up and running wide ass open, she sparks the fire he never knew he’d lost. The girl from his past digs up all the regret and remorse he’d buried when he left. Torn between the guilt of long ago and the vibrant girl in front of him, he must make a choice. Honor a promise he made to his best friend, Cassie’s dead brother, or love her.

In the midst of their chaos, a band, with a little bit of country, a dash of metal and a whole lot of dirt, is born…DirtSlap

Maybe a little snippet?

Over halfway through the set, Thrand thought his head might explode. Cassie had danced with every guy in the place, and it seemed she had finally settled on one—some blond cowboy who wouldn’t keep his hands to himself. On the verge of violence, Thrand kept breaking his sticks.

Her hair curled down her back and her hips swayed to the beat of the music. His beat. She held a beer high above her head, danced, and completely ignored him. How could she do that when she was dancing to his beat?

The song they played wasn’t even over when he stood up behind his set, making the rest of the band stop and turn in surprise. He banged his sticks together three times and the noise in the bar quieted a bit.

Cassie turned to look at him, he pointed at her with one stick, then banged them together three more times. Her smile reached him from across the room. She hopped off the cowboys lap and took a few steps toward him through the crowd.

Then he started playing her favorite song. Hard rock all the way. Not suited for Honky Tonk Row at all. He didn’t give two shits what he was supposed to be playing. Bedlam was lose and there was only one thing he wanted.

Her attention.

The guys in the band said something to him. He didn’t listen. They didn’t know the tune. But Cas did. She’d climbed on a chair, rocked it out, and her hair flew wild as she sang at the top of her lungs. The entire bar watched her and she didn’t care. Just kept right on doing her thing. Being everything that drew him in.

But the best part? She kept shoving handsy cowboy away.

Ryan caught on and joined in with some guitar riffs that made Cassie squeal with joy. Thrand didn’t know why she loved the song so much, but now, she was dancing to his beat and his beat alone.

Adding fuel to his fire.

He’d gotten exactly what he wanted…her focus on him.

People poured into the bar from the streets, filling it to capacity as he played wildly and dumped all his feeling into the song. The crowd jammed with her, Lila included, but he ignored them. Cassie pumped her fist in the air as part of the crowd joined in with the chorus. Her face was flushed, her green eyes flashing bright as they bored into him.

Sweat slid down his spine and the fire she created roared out of control. From the day he found her in Nashville, he knew she was going to be trouble.

She wanted him?

Let’s see if she could really handle him.

How do you go about picking character names? Do you have to get them just right and make sure they fit with the characters personality?

It’s a process…let me tell you. Names are the meat and butter. If it doesn’t fit, it just doesn’t work. Not only can I take forever to find the right name, I also have to find a pic to work as muse. Those two things are vital for me. Which is why you will almost always find faces cut off on my covers. J That and I want the reader to see them how they see them.

We’re cover hussies…What was your first impression of this cover?

Image1HOT. I loved it. Totally loved it. It so depicts their personalities. Luckily, I hired a terrific cover artist and she nailed it almost perfect at the first go.

What does writing mean to you?

Here is where I’m gonna get mushy. Five years ago (almost) I published my first book…and had a stroke the day it released. To this day, they have no idea why and I have a whole host of issues, which also can’t be explained. I’d tried so many times to write again. I couldn’t. About May of last year, I decided to give it one more shot. BAM! It worked! Tears of joy with each day I could write. It means the world to me. Writing. Creating. I love it so much. I still deal with all those said issues day-in, day-out…but I can write again. Something I truly thought was out of my reach.

And when I held FUEL in my hands…I have no words.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

Hope. That no matter how bad it gets, there is always hope that something better is waiting around the corner. My motto…Were it not for Hope, the Heart would Break.

If you had a technology free day, what would you do?

Read a paperback. J

What are you currently working on?

WRECK is book #2 in the DirtSlap series and its in editing phase and releases in May. KRUSH will be out in a summer anthology and FIXT & WIRED is in plotting phase. All part of the DirtSlap series and all stand-alones. No cliff-hangers here, but they do tie together.

blurbKenzie Butler is in love with the man who saved her life eight years ago. Her problem? He’s a Siberian were-tiger with the ability to scent his mate, and she wasn’t it. For years they lived across the hall from each other, helping one another with the aftermath from being tortured in a science experiment gone wrong. With each passing day, she falls more in love with him, even while knowing that one day Tiberius will find his true mate.

Tiberius Petrov leads a shadowed life. Kenzie is the only thing standing between him and the gruesome fate awaiting any shifter who goes rogue. For eight years the sound of her voice, the sweet intoxication of her scent, and the soft feel of her skin have kept him from turning down darker paths. But he’d always believed she could never be his. His nose was supposed to tell him who his perfect mate is, but it lied. He didn’t know if it was possible to develop a mate scent. All he knew was one day Kenzie didn’t smell like his mate, and the next day she did. Even after her scent changed, she kept insisting they were perfect as just friends.

After Kenzie survives a mysterious were-bear attack in her place of work, Tiberius learns the scientists altered more than his state of mind. Just when he thought he could take Kenzie as his mate he discovers he could be the biggest threat to her life.

Hi. Welcome to All I Want and More Books. We’re glad to have you here.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a work-from-home mother of two who loves to read and write. When I am not doing the Mom or the Writer thing, I can be found with a few hanks of yarn and my crochet hooks.

In this book, who was your favorite character to write and why?

Tiberius Petrov. He’s just so big and yummy and sweet all rolled into a badass were-tiger package. I want to make everything all better for him, so does the heroine, Kenzie.

What 3 words would you use to describe your main characters?

Tiberius Petrov would be: big, tragic, and shape-shifter.

Kenzie would be: daring, courageous and loving.

Can you tell us a little bit about this book? Maybe a little snippet?

Tiberius and Kenzie have known each other for years.  They are in love, but both of them have reasons for hiding it. They helped each other survive through hell, but once they find out they do share the same feelings for each other, they learn a whole new hell awaits them.

How do you go about picking character names? Do you have to get them just right and make sure they fit with the characters personality?

It depends on the character. Some of them I will spend weeks or even months, to find the perfect names, and others spring to life in my mind with a name they won’t let me change.

We’re cover hussies..What was your first impression of this cover?

LOVE.  I am totally in love with this cover.

What does writing mean to you?

Writing has been, and always will be, my sanity.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

I hope they fall in love with the characters and want to revisit the world I created.

If you had a technology free day, what would you do?

Did I mention yarn before?  I could totally spend a day with my crochet hook and a few skeins of yarn.

What are you currently working on?

Ha!  I am currently working on Nightwalker: Book 4 of the Secret Blood series, Unseen Fate: Book 3 of the Love Cursed series, A Page in Time: Book 2 of my Time Walkers series, and Undying Wolf: Book 2 of my Undying Chronical series. I am also working on editing Fury, which will be the first book of Magic Blood, which is a different series set in the Secret Blood world.

excerptHe got off the creaking chair. He found his pants first, and tugged those on, and then started the search for his shirt. “Kenzie, I lost control with you, goddamn it. You need to go, no, stay here. I’ll send Chad over.” He scrubbed a hand down his face. “Where is my fucking shirt?”

She was standing in front of him in the next moment. Her soft breasts brushing against his chest. “Look at me.”

He growled. “Kenzie, I know when I am losing it, and I am losing it.”

She captured his face between her hands and pulled him down so they were at eye level. “It’s completely normal to fantasize about what you want to do while having sex.” She kissed his nose. “You fantasized about me and you being mated. It’s okay.”

He wasn’t safe for her, but here she was, trying to make it right for him. Hellcats! She was…she was supposed to be safe with him, and in one second of giving in to the fantasy of her, he’d have done the worst, most unforgivable thing a shifter could do. “I’m not safe for you, Kenz. Please, don’t make this harder than it is.”

“Ty, don’t do this. You need to calm down and think about this rationally.” “I need my shirt.” He pulled away from her and got down on his hands and knees to check under the bed.

Kenzie got down on the floor next to him. “It’s in your apartment.”

He darted back. “Put some clothes on. I’ll have Chad come here.”

He retreated to the door. “Tiberius Petrov, you did not just make love to me so you could walk out on me.”

That was exactly what he was going to do. He should be her safe place, he should be the one thing in the whole world that would never hurt her, and he wasn’t sure until after the fact that he hadn’t hurt her. “I’m sorry, Kenz. I love you too much to stay.” Then he did the hardest thing he’d ever done. He walked away from her.

blurbI have my own sorta fairytale.

Only thing is that it’s with two people.

Thomas Braxton and Alex McNeil. They know I’m not with them completely. They know I have another. Everything else is pointless… useless.

From the moment I met Thomas and Alex I’ve thought if only I could blend them together? Thomas’s sexual endeavors. Alex’s sensitivity and passion for life. Then I would have the perfect person.

But perfect is overrated.

It doesn’t exist.

Plus, it’s not at all interesting.

And my relationships with Thomas and Alex?

Well that’s a story for the ages…

Teaser 1

Hi. Welcome to All I Want and More. We’re glad to have you here.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I honestly don’t know what there is to say. I’m just a girl with some dreams and I’m trying to make my life worthwhile and to wake up thankful and go to sleep happy.

In this book, who was your favorite character to write and why?

I think my favorite character to write was Alex McNeil. There is a huge plot twist at the end which I am excited for readers to find out.

What 3 words would you use to describe your main characters?

Steamy. Shocking. Eye-opening.

Can you tell us a little bit about this book? Maybe a little snippet?

This book is a love-triangle with a twist. I actually hate reading books with a love triangle, but this one is very…surprising. There are rules Stella James must follow with Thomas Braxton.

  1. Never talk about the past or a possible future.
  2. No sleeping over. No matter what.
  3. Find another.

And then she meets Alex McNeil.

How do you go about picking character names? Do you have to get them just right and make sure they fit with the characters personality?

While it is possible for someone to have twenty plus kids…The Duggars…I am not one of those people. So I take names I love but opt out of naming my future children.

We’re cover hussies..What was your first impression of this cover?

I thought this cover was amazing. Like I said earlier, there is a huge surprise at the end for readers. So I think people will understand why this was the cover chosen once completion of the book. It was actually a very difficult job for my poor publishing company, Limitless Publishing.

What does writing mean to you?

It means a lot to me. I’ve always loved writing. And to be honest I hated Creative Writing in high school and college. I was good at it, but I just didn’t like it. I always wanted to write about real people dealing with real situations. But I started reading…a lot, which is an understatement. One day, I decided, Why can’t I do it? So I wrote and wrote till I wanted to throw my lap top and a few years later here I am. Publishing my seventh book. While I thought this high would end it just gets better and even more amazing.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

I hope they like it. Yes, I know I cannot please everyone, but initially I hope they love the book. With this book in particular? I hope they realize that love comes in all different shapes, sizes and colors.

If you had a technology free day, what would you do?

Honestly? I would go to Starbucks, order a Caramel Macchiato, and read.  I work a full time job and write. I don’t complain about writing because it’s something I love to do. But I’ve had to put off another love of mine which is reading. It’s what got me into writing books in the first place. So reading and writing will always have a very special place in my heart.

What are you currently working on?

A book called Our Whispers in the Woods. I’m starting to fall in love with the idea of surprising the readers with a surprise. So this book will definitely leave you with a surprise.

I hate them. I love them. Sometimes, I don’t know how I feel about them. They’ve ruined me. They’ve made me whole. I guess it really all depends on who they’re coming from.

I think I belong locked up. Hidden away from society. Only sometimes. The other time I’m happy. It’s when I’m with Ethan. He brings light to the dark hole I’m trapped in. I love him. There’s no question about it. There’s just one problem.

I don’t know if he’s real.

I’m Charlotte Flaherty. This is my story.

Quickie Time

Sexiest feature on a man? His smile or his eyes.

Boxers, Briefs or Commando? Briefs!

What is on your night stand/dresser? A rose my boyfriend got me for my birthday J

Hairy chests or smooth? I always liked a smooth chest until I started dating my boyfriend Josh. He has a small patch of hair on his chest and of course a happy trail leading to the prize J

Cowboy or businessman? I think a cowboy, save a horse, ride a cowboy…giddyup!

Tattoos or piercings? I have quite a few piercings myself and am currently looking into getting a few small tattoos. I think I would have to choose tattoos, but I’m also a sucker for a bottom lip ring or a nose ring on a guy. Of course, they have to look good too.

Secret talent? Now if I told you then it wouldn’t be a secret.

What’s your guilty pleasure? White wine J

Celebrity crush? Matt Nathanson. Recently, I went to a concert with him, Christina Perri, OAR, Daughtry and Train. My best friend and I got front row tickets and while he was singing one of my favorite songs…Come On Get Higher…he looked right at me. I stared at him for a few seconds and then had to look away. I was starstruck and in love.

Night owl or early bird? Early bird. I love my sleep J

Twitter or Facebook? I think I like Twitter better. There’s always something to get your attention.

Pinterest or Instagram? Neither. I have an Instagram and I rarely post photos. It’s just not that interesting to me.

ebooks or paperbacks? Ebooks for reading, but something I always wanted when I first started writing books was to someday hold my book in a paperback form. I have a bookshelf with two rows filled with books I’ve written and there are many more to come.

Is there anything else you like to add?

I just want to say thank you to all of the readers and bloggers and my publishing company, Limitless. Without the bloggers posts on Twitter, signing up for release days/ book blitzs/ blog tours…the readers for reading my books and taking a huge chance on me…and Limitless for taking a huge leap of faith on me I wouldn’t be where I am today. I want everyone to know that I am so grateful for taking time out of your lives to read my books, blog about them, pay for them. You are all in my heart and without your kind words and hard work I wouldn’t be here.

Teaser 2

excerpt*not edited*

I bite at the corner of my bottom lip staring at the gorgeous, clean shaven Thomas Braxton who isn’t looking at me. Instead, you’re looking at the stack of papers in front of you like they’re the most important things to you in the world.  My nipples tighten and I shimmy in my chair, squeezing my thighs tightly together. I have envisioned you so many times taking those black frames from your sculpted face, grabbing me and lifting me up on the desk. You push my skirt up my smooth body, slide my thong to the side, unzip your zipper and push right into me.

You clear your throat and I look up into your eyes. “Did you hear anything I just said?”

“Sorry,” I answer as I shake my head to the side. “What’d you say Thomas?” You smile at me sending delicious shivers down my spine. It causes me to squirm.

“I asked,” you say giving a clear of your throat. “How are you getting along with your work and the big ole apple?”

“It’s good. I haven’t really met too many nice people, but,” I shrug. “I mean it’s not all that bad, ya know?”

“Yeah I get it. I never really get to go out anywhere,” you mutter. Your eyes leave mine to look back down at the stack of papers.

Thomas and I have been working together a lot lately on this court case. I’m not a lawyer, just a Personal Assistant. I help Thomas with extra work and errands. When I first moved to New York City, I sure as hell didn’t want to be somebody else’s bitch, but I didn’t have a lot of money and I needed it … fast. Being Thomas Braxton’s Personal Assistant definitely made the payments. For my own guilty pleasure I found someone to get wet to and fantasize about when I touch myself. “Why?”

You laugh and wave the papers and folders in front of you. “Oh I don’t know.”

I laugh. Shaking my head, I ask, “What are you up to this weekend?”

Thomas looks over towards me. Pursing your lips together you bring your hands up in front of you and crack them together. “Not much. Why?”

“Well, I was thinking … I’m new to the city and don’t really know that many people. What do you say you show me around?”

“Really?” You laugh. “Why would you want to hang out with your boss?”

“Well, I’m either here or at my apartment. All by myself. Most of the people here aren’t all that friendly.” You start to laugh when I add in, “Besides you that is.”

Pointing towards me you say, “You’re good.”

I stop tapping my pen against the notebook and set it down. “What do you mean by that?”

“Trying to climb the ladder as fast as you can?”

“Not at all. It just so happens that you are the nicest person here. Heck, if you weren’t my boss I’d probably ask you to have a drink with me. Maybe even dinner.” Your eyes go black and my insides clench. I’ve got you right where I want you. It’s not the fact that your my boss per say. It just makes what we will have that much more exciting, rich and enticing. To know that Thomas and I will do the inner-relations fucking on the desk, is making my insides do somersaults and crazy things.

Clearing your throat you ask, “You would?”

I adjust myself in the seat and scoot on closer towards you. I’m wearing a low-cut, probably inappropriate blouse for work, surprised no one has mentioned it. More than likely you can see my hardened nipples through the light pink material. “I would.”

You give another clear of your throat. Probably to erase the images of us fucking. “But yes. Yes I understand what you mean.”

Placing the pen and notebook down in the corner of your desk I sit back spreading my legs open.

You gasp. “Stella.”

“Yes?” I ask putting my fingers to the buttons on my blouse.

I see your Adam’s apple move up, then down once before you say, “This is inappropriate, Stella.”

I smile. I’ve got you right where I want you. “Well,” I say getting up from my seat, shutting the door, thankful the blinds are closed already. Spinning around I rest my arched back against the door. “That’s what’s so fun about it. Don’t you agree?” You don’t say anything as you get up from the seat. My eyes leave yours and travel down your body excited to see the bump in your pants. I lick my bottom lip, then bite down hard on it. My eyes skimmer up your body and stare into your blackened eyes.

“I don’t do girlfriends.”

“That’s fine.” I smirk. “Because I’m not your girlfriend.”

“What are you then?”

“I’m your employer. Nothing m -” You don’t let me say anything else. Grabbing a hold of me tightly by the middle of my waist, you pull me to you, and shut me up when your lips meet mine.  I gasp from the pressure of your lips on mine. From the amazing sensation when the bump in your pants rocks against my sensitive area.

As I open my mouth for more you lean away from me, wiping your mouth, like I’m some sort of cockroach or mutated animal. “I can’t do this Stella. I just,” but I don’t let you continue on.

I walk towards you, pushing you backwards until your sitting in your office chair. “I know you want to fuck me,” I whisper. Bringing my hands up to my blouse I start to unbutton it. You don’t say anything just like I knew you wouldn’t. My breasts push out against the white-lace bra. I love that I wore this one today. The white-lace symbolizing the virginal state, but I’m anything but.

I lost my virginity when I was fourteen to a neighbor’s cousin who was in town for the weekend. We weren’t anything just like I knew we wouldn’t be. Growing up in Louisiana there wasn’t all that much to do, besides drinking and getting in trouble with the law. Sex was the third and final thing to do. So at fourteen in a homemade treehouse in the middle of a scorching summer I lost my virginity. I didn’t think anything of it. I wanted to touch a penis, I wanted to see a penis, and the next thing I knew it was inside of me. With a snap of fingers my virginity was gone and I was moving on with my life. I didn’t even know his name. Didn’t care.

Sex shouldn’t be so secretive, quiet or disruptful if you’re a woman. Sex is an action, not an emotion. I enjoy screaming your name, the headboard rattling, bent over, sweaty, dirty fucking. Who doesn’t? I’m not considered a slut. I just like to have sex a lot and I like to try it with different ones, maybe even simultaneously someday. When they don’t meet my standards then I move on. My standards? Well, they’re simple:

Large Cock. 8 inches or more.

Knows how to use it, along with mouth and fingers.

Gets me off. (Can be difficult)

Doesn’t talk about feelings and/ or emotions.

Talks dirty.

“What do you want from me Stella?” you ask gruffly.

I don’t answer you. Not yet anyway. Instead, I kneel down in front of you placing my hands on your upper thighs.

bioFor the past 21 years, I have been a planner and an organizer. I always needed things a specific 7079840way and then everything changed for me. I’ve always had a vivid imagination and thoughts racing through my mind. I realized that life is way too short to let things pass me by, because in the blink of an eye everything could change. So I decided to just live in the moment, taking every chance and opportunity led my way. No second thoughts and just going with the flow.

I decided to put the fictional characters and the conversations going on in my head to paper. I know, it makes me sound crazy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve embraced crazy and hectic and last minute because it’s led me to making my dreams a reality.

When I’m not writing Happily Ever After’s I’m reading about them and living one. I think this world is filled with too much sadness already we don’t need to read about it as well. I write because I love it and I’ve allowed my imagination to run wild and be crazy and free. Just like me.

Hi. Welcome to All I Want and More. We’re glad to have you here.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m an erotic romance writer living in Yorkshire with my husband and two extremely bratty cats.

In this book, who was your favorite character to write and why?

Tamar is a great character to write. She’s still discovering her mediumship ability and so it’s fun to explore that with her.

What 3 words would you use to describe your main characters?

Determined, open-minded and dreamy.

Can you tell us a little bit about this book?

Tamar Steele is still getting used to her role as the “singing medium” for her paranormal investigative team, so when TV show Scare Seekers chooses to feature them in an episode, she forces herself to go along with it for the publicity. But a seance goes wrong, leaving her teammate Hana possessed and Tamar has to find a new way to increase her mediumship power to save her…

How do you go about picking character names? Do you have to get them just right and make sure they fit with the characters personality?

Oh yes. Especially when it’s a hero or heroine – if it’s the wrong name I just can’t write them properly. Sometimes names will just suggest themselves but other times I have to go through dozens before I find one that fits.

We’re cover hussies..What was your first impression of this cover?

I loved it. It’s always good when your heroine is given a face that works for her!

What does writing mean to you?

It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do, so it’s everything to me. I couldn’t do without it.

What are you currently working on?

I’m working on a new series which will hopefully be out next year, and am doing edits for a novella called “In the Halls of the Mountain Troll” about a team of Norwegian trollhunters – which is a bit of a departure for me!

Quickie Time

Sexiest feature on a man? His bottom.

Boxers, Briefs or Commando? Commando.

What is on your night stand/dresser? A lot of junk.

Hairy chests or smooth? Smooth – I can’t stand a chest rug.

Cowboy or businessman? Cowboy any day.

Tattoos or piercings? Tattoos. I have five.

Secret talent? I used to be a trained classical singer, although I’m out of practise.

What’s your guilty pleasure? Spa treatments at Lush. I think they’ll end up naming a room after me.

Celebrity crush? Tom Felton.

Night owl or early bird? Early bird.

Twitter or Facebook? Facebook.

Pinterest or Instagram? Instagram. I never got the hang of Pinterest.

ebooks or paperbacks? I used to say paperbacks, but now I’m addicted to my Kindle.

excerptGod, he was good at this. She could already feel relaxation flowing through her body, followed by tingles of excitement as his tongue went to work, tormenting every sensitive spot. Her pleasure mounted, spiralling in her gut as she pushed her hips forward, aching for more movement, harder, faster, but Jason was still goingslowly and her breath raced in anticipation of the climax to come.

Tamar moaned, lacing her fingers into Jason’s hair as he pressed soft kisses to her pussy, alternating with tender licks until she could barely stand it. Jason slid his fingers inside her, grazing her sweet spot over and over again—

Jason’s lips tightened around her clit, sucking, and Tamar threw back her head and screamed as the pleasure hit her.

Through the waves of ecstasy, she heard a loud pop from above her, followed by a sprinkling sensation on her skin.

“What the fuck?” she heard Jason say, and Tamar opened her eyes. Her chest and stomach were covered with shards of glass. Jason was sitting back on his ankles, staring up in irritated confusion as he brushed fragments out of his hair.

At least, it looked like he was. The room was in almost complete darkness, broken only by the bedside lamp and the street light outside the window.

“Did the light bulb blow?”

“I think it shattered.”

Together they got off the bed to sweep up the pieces of broken bulb, Tamar shaking her head in bemusement.

Now that had never happened before.

What did that mean?

blurbCan you have love and power at the same time?

Congressman Jonathan Brond has mastered his work, his reputation and the art of sexual domination while keeping his family’s political legacy intact. But a chance encounter with college student Christiana Snow promises something he didn’t think was possible–meeting someone honest.

When the charismatic man proposes a summer of sensual, sexual submission, Christiana leaps into his world—the antidote to her bland life. But Washington, D.C. is an unforgiving place; soon gossip and scandal threatens their relationship.

Yet, in a town of players, sometimes introducing a new game is the only way out. Who knew love would be the winning plan?

Stand alone. Not a cliff-hanger.

Thank you for stopping by All I Want and More. We’re glad to have you here.

Thank you for having me.

Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself…Something that we cannot Google about you J

I enjoy burlesque and lyra (hoop) dancing. If our house were to start on fire, I’d grab three things: my laptop, dog and official, 5 foot, Sally Rand, ostrich feather fans. They are probably one of the most valuable (read: expensive) things in our home.

feather fans (2)

Tell us a little about this book?

Lovely is a contemporary erotic romance set in Washington, D.C., where love and power often collide. Congressman Jonathan Brond is drawn to a young woman, Christiana Snow, who is completely inappropriate for someone headed to the White House someday. Of course, his sexual proclivities aren’t exactly suited for a presidential post, either. Add a dose of Washington’s unforgiving society, looming family secrets and political blackmail, and soon Jonathan and Christiana face a major scandal.

What was your favorite part to write in this book?

About two thirds into Lovely, Christiana and Jonathan go sailing on his boat. While being “disciplined” by him, Jonathan forces Christiana to be honest about something from her past. This scene had been in my head for years. But when I finally started writing it, the story took a much more serious turn than I’d intended. Characters are like that—always steering you in directions you hadn’t expected.

You can only pick 3 words to describe your main characters, what would they be?

For Jonathan: Charismatic, steadfast, loyal

For Christiana: Independent, caretaker, shy

What 3 things would your main characters never leave the house without?

Jonathan would never leave without his cell phone, a well-pressed shirt, and his talking points. Christiana would never leave the house without her cell phone and its charger (you’ll have to read the book as to why) and cash for a cab.

Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why?

Jonathan was the easiest because he started “speaking” to me years ago. He was the character who told me to write Lovely. Christiana was much harder. Being a very shy person, she was reticent to step into the spotlight. Of course once she met Jonathan, she changed considerably.

Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of this cover?

My first thought about the Lovely cover was, oh, thank God. Our designer got what I was looking for – elegance, sophistication and a hint of mystery. The last thing I wanted was a guy standing on the Capitol Hill steps, peeling off his shirt to reveal perfect abs (though Jonathan does have perfect abs).

How many books are you shooting for in this series?

At least six, and maybe seven.

What type of scene is your favorite to write? (Fight, love, making up, etc.)

I really like when my characters dance with each other via dialogue. That call and response, taunting, trying-to-one-up-each-other is fun to write. Perhaps that’s why I like pitting alpha male against alpha male. They like to verbally spar. So, I guess you could say my favorite scene is a mixture of fighting and determining your place in the world.

How much emotion does it take from you to write?

I lose myself when writing. I probably wouldn’t notice if a canon went off near my head. So, my stories pretty much take all of me – heart, soul, brain, and most definitely all my emotions. I’ve been known to cry with them, as well as smile.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

The greatest compliment an author can receive is that the reader grew emotionally attached to the characters and their journeys. I hope readers feel they’ve gone on those journeys with my characters, and it’s one they won’t forget.

Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?

Young adult. I remember that time frame in my own life. Emotions run high. Given I like to write emotionally-charged stories, it would be fun to explore the young adult mindset. But, I also know you have to get it right or it just doesn’t work.

What are you currently working on?

More writing! The second book of the Elite Doms’ series, Untouchable, is in final edits. Also, I’m working on the Lovely sequel, which is slated for publication in spring 2015.

Untouchable showcases Carson Drake, who made a cameo in Lovely. Carson gave up on love long ago. But when his company’s “irritating” PR princess, London Chantelle, turns up at Club Diabolus, he’s quickly spellbound by the mystery her attendance presents. Throughout the book Carson learns London’s secrets run deeper than he could guess. Soon both are forced to confront their pasts, which have kept them from finding what they both desperately want—love.

What’s the last line you wrote from your current WIP?

Carson had no choice but to wordlessly follow him through the club to the Tribunal’s chambers.

Okay…. personal time!!!! Oh yeah, I go there… Hahah…

What is on your night stand/dresser?

A sound machine, melatonin, a glass of water, lavender hand creme, pen and paper (for middle-of-the-night ideas) and my iPad. Oh, wow, I sound like an old woman! Did I mention the iPad?

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

I work a lot. My PR practice keeps me busy, juggling seven clients and eight other consultants. But I also dance and take Pilates classes a few times a week.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Reading in the bathtub.

reading in bathtub

What’s your secret talent?

Give me six weeks and I can turn any woman into a lap dance queen.

What’s the last thing you Googled?

How to create a google doc to capture entrants in my weekly Pinterest giveaways. (Not very exciting, I know.)

Quickie time… Think fast….

Sexiest feature on a man? His shoulders. But I’m a sucker for great arms, too.

Boxers, Briefs or Commando? Boxers

Cowboy or businessman? Businessman

Tattoos or piercings? Tattoos

excerptCalling Yvette from Frustration Word count: just over 1000

Warnings: M/F, sexual language, BDSM references (caning, spanking, nipple clamps)

Jonathan stepped into the late afternoon sunshine, provoked but containing his irritation. He’d spent thirty appalling minutes taping a segment for the evening news in a vain attempt to warn people how dangerous social media could be. The idiotic host, Collins, had no idea what he preached. People were sending other people over the edge with a touch of a button.

Fuck. Yes, he needed to fuck.

Jonathan had two hours before a mandatory reception. He couldn’t go with his cock on fire. Fingering his phone, he ran through a list of women he could call. He shouldn’t call any of them. Damn election.

Jesus, what he wouldn’t give to have an agreement with a certain young blond woman. Christiana Snow hadn’t been out of his thoughts since he ran into her for the second time in days—unheard of in Washington. But he must stop. He’d give an interview to Peter Snow and be done with it.

Jonathan pushed the image of her blue eyes and perfect round ass from his mind and dialed Christiana’s polar opposite. Someone whose need for discretion exceeded his own.

“Yvette.” She’d answered on the first ring. “Are you in your suite?”

“I’m having lunch with my friends.” Laughter rose in the background.

“Can you get away?”

“I thought you had fundraisers to attend.”

Ah, the brat he’d grown to expect. Well, he knew how to handle petulance. “I won’t ask again.”

“I can extract myself in another hour.”

“Thirty minutes. Your suite,” he directed.

“I’ll try.”

He steeled his voice. “Yvette.”

“Yes, sir. Thirty minutes.”

“Don’t keep me waiting.”

She would be late. She’d do it to force a spanking, her favorite punishment. Today, she’d learn attempting to top him would not result in anything she liked. God, he needed this. Someone who understood what he required and, in return, required what he could give.

Jonathan slipped behind the wheel of his convertible, heat seeping through his pants from the sun-warmed leather seat. If he hurried, he would beat Yvette to the Jefferson Suite and have time to prepare.

The light traffic allowed him to arrive at The Oak in twenty minutes. Rich hues of lush lawn and paler pastels of spring blooms colored the landscaping around the entranceway as he pulled up. The valet rushed to open his door.

Jonathan tossed his keys to the eager young man, who yelped, “Congressman.”

The Oak’s lobby didn’t teem with guests. A sliver of suspicion ran up his spine—an automatic reaction to significant environmental changes.

As he ascended in the antique elevator, he wondered if Christiana would work the restaurant later that night. Stop it, Jonathan.

Jonathan used his master key to enter the suite, a waft of lilac scent hitting him square in the face as the door opened. Yvette kept fresh flowers at all times. He smiled, knowing she likely had doubled her order this week. As long as Arniss DeCord dallied in their divorce settlement, she’d run up his tab. The worst thing she could do to the prick was spend his money.

Jonathan and Yvette had been friends since college. He’d warned her about marrying Arniss, and now his prediction had come true. The affairs aside, the man’s greatest cruelty lay in ignoring her needs. Jonathan would do no such thing, could not. Yvette deserved better. He hated seeing her suffer—seeing anyone suffer.

His steps echoed through the marble entrance of the vacant suite. He flipped the wall switch in the master bedroom and recessed lights’ soft illumination rose. His bag made a loud thump as he threw it on the bed. A quick glance at the clock soothed his earlier anxiety. Yvette had to arrive in the next ten minutes in order to avoid a punishment. She wouldn’t make it.

He pulled out a short bamboo switch from his bag, ran his fingers over its knobby surface. He laid it on the silk duvet where Yvette would see it immediately upon entering.

Jonathan loosened his tie and fell into the corner wingback chair, facing the French doors, which he’d left opened to the main room. He needed to see her enter. Yvette didn’t so much walk as sashay, hips rolling with each step. Her walk was his favorite part of the dark-haired beauty queen’s manner and physique.

Of course, Yvette’s brat nature wasn’t his ideal for a submissive. Her hot temper blazed too quickly. But she acquiesced often enough to keep his interest and keep him serving her need for domination.

Jonathan loved seducing a female submissive, teasing the consent from her willing body. He loved the feeling of absolute control—control he had nowhere else in his life. His political career provided power. But nothing compared to the rush from earning a submissive’s trust and consent. Dominating a willing woman provided him a unilateral authority. His will dictated every action without compromise—far removed from the fucking consensus that ruled his political life.

“Take off your clothes. Everything but the panties.” Those would be his only words.

She’d peel off her bra slowly, letting her full breasts with dark-berry nipples pop free. He grew stiff at the thought of capturing each bud in the little clamps he brought. Pinching the firm tips, one in each claw, would be his first action. Then, he would connect the clamps’ chain to a collar she’d wear.

He’d bend her over the dark-red leather bench at the base of the bed, ass displayed for his taking. The thin chain would pull each tip hard when he yanked her hair back—smooth, silky, dark locks that slide through his fingers and waterfall down her back.

Perhaps she’d earn that spanking then. He knew from experience her cunt soaked through lace in three slaps. A cane would brand her ass but draw out her orgasm. When her mewls stopped, she’d be ready. He would then take his time, lots and lots of time, to drive into her heated pussy, like plowing new earth with his rutting.

A snick sounded from the suite’s front door. Yvette’s high heels clicked on the hallway’s marble floor. She was late. Good.

Her series, the Elite Doms of Washington, is contemporary erotic romance for the progressive woman—unafraid and unencumbered by society’s boundaries.

Lovely, the first novel in the series debuting in January 2015, was inspired one sunny day at an outside café in Washington Harbor where Elizabeth swore she witnessed a woman being lashed to a sailboat mast, happily. Lovely’s hero, Jonathan Brond, was born that day when he silently answered her unspoken question, “does she like that?” with yet another question: “Would you like to find out?”

Today Elizabeth shares twenty-eight, wildlife-filled acres in Central Virginia with her husband and dog, and is sometimes separated from her laptop to indulge in dance classes and visits to wineries and hiking trails with friends. blurbAfter joining a sexual compatibility site, Sydney finds herself at a coffee shop awaiting her first date.

When bachelor number one makes a bizarre and slightly alarming entrance, will she stick to Plan A or choose the sympathetic stranger?

Thank you for stopping by All I Want and More. We’re glad to have you here.

Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself…Something that we cannot Google about you J

I am quite literally an open book, so I wouldn’t doubt you could find just about everything about me if you Googled me. I like to be Googled. *grins* But here’s me in a nutshell: I juggle, I dance, I’m a lover of karaoke, a peanut butter addict, and a serial online dater.

Tell us a little about this book.

I think we’re all familiar with the concept of online dating, but this book takes things to a whole new level. Sydney and Charlie are matched through a sexual compatibility site, and when they officially meet, they’re doing so with the intention of hooking up. Sitting across from someone in a coffee shop who knows your favorite sexual position before you even touch can be a trifle awkward, wouldn’t you say?

What was your favorite part to write in this book?

The opening scene was my favorite part to write, when Charlie excuses himself to tend to some business and a handsome stranger (who’d been eavesdropping on their conversation) swoops in to sway Sydney’s decision.

You can only pick 3 words to describe your main characters, what would they be?

Sydney: Passionate, adventurous, determined

Charlie: Genuine, quirky, enthusiastic

Garrett: Mysterious, persuasive, commanding

What 3 things would your main characters never leave the house without?

Sydney: Make-up, cell phone, iPod full of classical tunes

Charlie: Clown nose, big shoes, enthusiasm out the wazoo

Garrett: Suave charm, a well-pressed suit, his wallet

Which was the easiest character to write and the hardest ~ and why?

I usually find it much more difficult to write male characters because, well, I’m not actually a man. But Charlie just came so naturally to me since his personality most closely resembles my own. Garrett is the complete opposite of me in every way, so he was the most challenging to write, but I’m also the most intrigued by him at the same time. That whole opposites attract thing is spot-on.

Since we’re cover hussies….what was your first impression of this cover?

*gulp* *pant* *sticks head in the freezer*

What type of scene is your favorite to write? (Fight, love, making up..etc.)

I prefer scenes that involve all three! I love writing scenes filled with tension—romantic and otherwise. A heated argument, a slap to the face, that can often lead to a kiss or two…or five.

How much emotion does it take from you to write?

I’m laughing because I’ve actually thought of asking someone to take a video of me while I’m writing just to see the faces I make throughout. I feel what my characters feel. I go THAT deep and get THAT connected because I need to in order to convey that emotion properly to my readers.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

A big-ass smile and the need to read more! And possibly the urge to stick their head in the freezer too. 😉

Is there a genre you would like to write but are a little apprehensive to try?

I’m one of those ‘happy where I am’ kind of authors. I’ve never really wanted to try anything other than erotic romance/romantic comedy. Having said that, I have a huge respect and admiration for historical romance authors because I would be terrified to ever tackle something so huge.

What are you currently working on?

My work in progress is a romantic, dystopian comedy called Nutcases. It’s set in a world where peanut butter has been banned by the government and my hero and heroine run an underground peanut butter bootlegging business. Many shenanigans ensue. 😉

What’s the last line you wrote from your current WIP?

I’m gonna give you two lines, ‘cause I’m generous that way:

Right now, they had everything they needed to produce peanut butter in small quantities, but what would be the point? To give people a taste of something they once loved, only to take it away again?

Okay…. personal time!!!!

What is on your night stand/dresser? Purple Play-Doh. Really. Oh, and a lamp, an alarm clock, a Lego mime, and a flashlight.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing? I love to play sports, juggle, dance, hula hoop, read, and socialize with my peeps.

What’s your guilty pleasure? Nutella. I eat it by the spoonful. Here’s a tip: Put a spoonful of Nutella in the freezer for thirty minutes. It will change. Your. Life.

What’s your secret talent? I can play the kazoo while balancing on one foot with my eyes closed.

What’s the last thing you Googled? Gordon Lightfoot lyrics. *nods*

Quickie time… Think fast….

Are you a quickie kinda girl? I’ll take whatever I can get!

What’s ur fave drink – in a glass or on him? I love a good glass of H20 and I’d pour that alllll over him.

Spank or Flogger? Spank. I’m a bad, bad girl.

Ties or Chains? Ties

Leather or Lace? Leather

Soft or Hard… Bed, where was your mind? 😉 I like it firm, baby.

Control or Be Controlled? Be controlled. I’m like an X-box. Use me!

Hot Wax or Whipped Cream? Whipped Cream all the way!

Top or Bottom? Bottom

Sexiest feature on a man? His hair. Weird, I know, but I just love a man with good hair I can get my fingers all tangled up in

Boxers, Briefs or Commando? Boxer-briefs

Cowboy or businessman? A cowboy who means business

Tattoos or piercings? Um, neither? Not a fan

Night owl or early bird? I’m terrified of birds, so…going over here now

Twitter or Facebook? Facetwit? I can’t decide! Facetwit has huge potential, I think

blurbTheo’s sole purpose for the last ninety-eight years was to protect his wolf. That changed the moment he met Drew and the wolf called ‘Mate’.

Carrying the soul of an extinct wolf alongside your own isn’t easy. Swapping into said wolf is even harder. Ask Theo Grey—he’s been doing it for ninety-eight years. Yet, after surviving two world wars, witnessing the space race and patiently enduring the eighties, you’d think he’d have seen it all, but nothing could have prepared him for meeting Tofino’s new vet, Drew O’Bannion and according to the wolf, his mate.

Drew loves her dog, sleeping in and coffee. She also loves being a vet. The main reason behind her accepting the veterinarian practice offered to her from a family friend. Hoping for a slower pace at life Tofino seemed the ideal spot. What she didn’t expect was Officer Theo Grey. Theo is tall, dark and drop dead gorgeous, a definite 10 on the ‘wow’ scale. Regardless of his looks, there is more to Theo, there is her unexpected attraction for him. It’s unnerving and completely out of character for her, but she is able to match Theo’s hungry kiss, for hungry kiss.

With their desire growing at an alarming rate and the threat of an unknown shooter roaming the woods of the coastal town, Theo must face the ultimate decision—let Drew go for her own safety or claim his mate for all time.

Reader Advisory: This story contains scenes of violence and threats of non-consensual sex

Hi Nancy. Welcome to All I Want and More Books. We’re glad to have you here.

Hi! Thanks so much for having me.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a mum, a wife, a zookeeper and I write occasional on the side. I’ve had too many jobs to count but let me tell you I can clean a car faster than anyone you know while selling you running shoes and making you the best sundae you’ve ever had. I’m a huge dog lover and wish I had half of Cesar Millan’s mystical powers.

In this book, who was your favorite character to write and why?

Mmm…that’s a tough one. I would have to say the super-gross bad guy Henrik Linde. I let my wild imagination take control with Henrik and boy did it even. Henrik is what I would fear the most from a bad guy He’s a wealthy, self-centered psycho, who’s hobbies include illegal hunting for endangered animals, rape and any other type of abuse and selling of women into the sex trade, and that is just for starters.

What 3 words would you use to describe your main characters?

Theo – wise, cautious, lonely

Drew- insecure, impulsive, cheeky

How do you go about picking character names? Do you have to get them just right and make sure they fit with the characters personality?

Yes!!! When I get an idea for a story the first thing I do is hunt down names. They just are characters until I have them named. And the hunt the names down based on the characters background and where they are original from. A story I’m working on now has a hero who is from 1850’s Texas. So I searched for names popular for that place and time. If I don’t find one that will work, I just use one that I like from wherever.

We’re cover hussies..What was your first impression of this cover?

LOVE IT!!! I mean look at the guy…errr chest. I wonder what the rest of him looks like? Hopefully like Taylor Kitsch!! Oh wow, that would be awesome.

What does writing mean to you?

To me writing is fun and it bring out my creative side that doesn’t require paint. LOL

It’s the part of my day I get to play and make-believe.

What do you hope readers take away after reading one of your books?

I hope my readers enjoyed the my work. That is the goal after all. But I hope they get that ‘Awe damn, the books done.’ feeling too. It’s always good if the readers miss your characters.

If you had a technology free day, what would you do?

I would spend it outdoors with my family or doing some gardening, or walking the dogs, maybe skiing if it was winter.

What are you currently working on?

At the moment I’m working on three different books. A follow up to No Matter When (a time-travel/futuristic erotic romance). A paranormal erotic romance and a futuristic erotic romance.

All I can say about my current ambition is YIKES! So many authors are working on more then one book at a time and they make it sound so easy. For me…not so much. LOL But I’ll push through, the stubborn redhead in me won’t allow anything else.

Quickie Time

Sexiest feature on a man? Smile

Boxers, Briefs or Commando? Boxers

What is on your night stand/dresser?  iPad Mini

Hairy chests or smooth? Hairy-ish

Cowboy or businessman? Neither…Go ARMY!!!

Secret talent? I can touch my tongue to my nose.

What’s your guilty pleasure? Dipping a Cadbury’s milk chocolate in my tea.

Celebrity crush? Tie between Gerard Butler & Taylor Kitsch

Night owl or early bird? Night Owl

Remember a good laugh and a long sleep are two of the best cures for anything. Except for wine…that shit cures EVERYTHING.

Thanks for having me today.

excerpt“Then again, I haven’t lived as long as you and I wasn’t chosen by the wolf, so I really have no idea what it is you go through.”

Tom had his wife Gwen and three kids. He had a family that would age as he aged. He would watch his children marry and have children of their own and when it came time, Tom would die and finally know peace. Theo would never have that.

“No, you don’t,” Theo bit out.

“I’ve been alone, though.” Tom crossed his arms and gave him a serious look. “Long time before I met Gwen. I didn’t like it.”

Theo didn’t like being alone either, it wasn’t the best feeling knowing that everyone you either knew or loved was dead and all that was left were foggy memories, but at least he was used to it now.

“Mate here. Just Drew here.” Theo frowned at the choppy comment. Had the wolf known Drew would come here? Is that why he had been drawn back to this place time and again?

“Still annoyed, eh? Why don’t you go see Drew? I bet she puts a smile on your face.”

“Mmm,” Theo agreed slowly.

“What’s up now?”

Theo continued to frown. “Do you think the wolf knew Drew would come here?”

Tom frowned himself. “Maybe. He was able to enter the bodies of two humans, both from different times and continents. Sensing where his future mate could be found might be a bonus of his spiritual gifts or maybe it’s just a natural instinct.”

“What do you mean?”

“He’s a British Colombian wolf. This area was the only place on earth that particular animal was found. The island is his home. It makes sense that he would return to find a mate. Wouldn’t you like to go back to England and find yourself a pretty English girl?”

“No,” Theo answered honestly. “I don’t want to go back. I like it here.” He forced his posh English accent to the surface as he spoke. “I lost my taste for home after the war. Being the only wolf in England and hunted because of it has a way of leaving a bad taste in one’s mouth.”

Tom laughed. “Man, it freaks me out when you talk like that. I like you better when you speak like a relatively normal Canadian.”

bioI am a full-blooded Canadian, right down to the maple syrup running through my veins. I enjoy watching hockey, but AuthorPicdespise skating…and the cold. I enjoy a good helping of Tourtiere with a side of Poutine as must as the next person, yet I am only bilingual when it comes to swear words. I am proud to say I survived my token shot of Newfie Screech, although I did refuse to kiss the Cod – that is never going to happen – and I openly admit, that I fell in love with the Rocky Mountains the first time I saw them.

I have many occupations written down in my passport, mom, wife, author…zookeeper! However, I have to say that writing is by far the easiest part of my day.

I have three small -but legal- addictions: bed lines, lavender, and books. All of which, are replenished on a regular basis. Reading into the wee hours of the morning, is one of many bad habits, next to spontaneously rearranging furniture and randomly painting rooms in my house.
